Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season is on the immediate horizon. Yes, just 3 weeks remain of the regular season before we get into playoff mode. We are coming down the home stretch, so the importance of each game is getting bigger and bigger – at least for teams that are still in playoff contention. The upcoming week is headlined by a huge Sunday afternoon showdown between the Cowboys and Dolphins, plus a whole host of head-to-head matchups between teams that are on the border of being in or out of the postseason.

Make sure you check out our NFL predictions as we add our picks on the side and total for every game throughout the week. Meanwhile, we currently boast a 46-34 NFL best bets record — so don’t forget to give that page a look. For now, let’s break down the NFL Week 16 opening lines and give our best early bet to make.

Best early bet for NFL Week 16: Cincinnati Bengals -2.5 over Pittsburgh Steelers (-110)

The Steelers have been a complete disaster over the last 3 weeks. They were once in prime playoff contention – AFC North contention even – at 7-4, but they have since lost 3 in a row. And that doesn’t even begin to tell the real story. Those losses have come to Arizona and New England at home plus a 30-13 blowout at Indianapolis. Kenny Pickett is out, which means Mitch Trubisky is playing quarterback. But it hasn’t mattered who is under center and it probably won’t in Week 16. Cincinnati is playing a backup QB of its own, but Jake Browning has been outstanding in place of Joe Burrow. The Bengals have won 3 straight (2 in overtime) and they should be able to continue their winning streak without any trouble. A field goal is not enough for Pittsburgh – not even at home.

We’ll have NFL Week 16 picks for every game
