Welcome to another tremendous Tuesday of sports. All eyes are on the MLB All-Star Game tonight, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

We cashed a +650 pick on the Home Run Derby!
The Pickswise MLB team are so good that sometimes they don’t even need MLB games to be taking place to find some great winning picks! Caleb Wilfinger smashed it out of the park with his Home Run Derby best bet of Juan Soto at +650 odds as the Washington Nationals (for the time being) star beat Julio Rodriguez of the Mariners in the final. Rodriguez had earlier ended Pete Alonso’s bid for a third straight win in the semifinals.

Today’s Slate

The stars are out tonight
There’s only one game in town tonight, or rather in Dodger Stadium, where the MLB All-Star Game starts at 8:00 pm ET. Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw will start for the National League in his home stadium, with Shane McClanahan of the Rays getting the ball first for the AL. Check out today’s MLB All-Star Game preview.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Over 7.5 runs in the 2022 MLB All-Star Game
8:00 pm ET

The total for this game looks like an average number for a standard MLB game. However, this is no ordinary regular-season game. This is a collection of all of the best bats in the world. Of course, there is an argument for both sides, as the pitchers involved are the best of the best as well, but it’s easier for the bats to succeed at slightly less than 100% effort than it is for pitchers. Taking a few big hacks to show off your power is far less damaging than thousands of pitches a year in an unnatural motion. The offensive numbers for these lineups are absolutely ridiculous, so trust them to take care of some pitchers who are more focused on the long term. Stat of the Day

The American League has won the last 8 All-Star Games, and 15 of the last 18.

Quote of the Day

“I’m a lone survivor. I’ve been going through all this stuff, and I’m still here standing up and with my chin up, all the time. And that shows you I can go through anything.”

Juan Soto shrugged off the difficulty of being offered a 15-year, $440 million contract extension to win the Home Run Derby.
