Good morning Pickswise Nation and welcome to Wise n’ Shine, your one-stop shop for everything you need to know to bet better today! We’ve got plenty of great MLB and U.S. Open tennis action to get excited for, as well as the fact we’re another day closer to the start of the 2021 NFL season. Let’s get into it!

About Last Night

Labor Day delivers
It was an eventful Labor Day in MLB and the big victory came in Milwaukee as the Phillies demolished the Brewers 12-0 to go 1.5 games back on the Atlanta Braves in the race for the NL East. Philly is now +220 with FanDuel to win the division, while Atlanta is still a hot favorite at -220.

Djokovic continues dominance
Novak Djokovic dropped the first set to Jenson Brooksby but then powered back to win the next three and advance to the quarter-finals of the U.S. Open. Djokovic faces Matteo Berrettini next and is now three wins away from completing the calendar grand slam. He is -120 with DraftKings to complete that feat.

Today’s Slate

MLB train keeps rolling
We’ve got a hefty 15-game MLB slate today with the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers once again in action as they continue their battle for the NL West. Make sure you read our picks for each of today’s matchups.

Crunch time in U.S. Open
We’ve now reached the quarterfinal stage of the U.S. Open and a number of tennis stars are in action, including Daniil Medvedev and Barbora Krecjikova. Our tennis expert Ricky Dimon has been on fire with his picks lately, so make sure you read his best bets for today’s big clashes.

Best Bet of the Day

San Francisco Giants -1.5 vs Colorado Rockies
8:40pm ET

When Logan Webb takes the mound, the Giants usually win. San Francisco has won 13 of Webb’s last 14 starts, and those wins have been by an average of more than 3 runs. Meanwhile, the Rockies start Chi Chi Gonzalez, who has a woeful 6.13 ERA this season which should be taken advantage of by the Giants. Make sure you check out our other MLB best bet of the day.

Stat of the Day

The Blue Jays and Yankees have played each other at Yankee Stadium 7 times so far this season, and none of those went over today’s line of 8.5 runs. Read our full game preview for Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees.

Must-read

With just two days to go until the start of the 2021 NFL season, six of our experts have stepped in to give their pick for who wins Super Bowl LVI in February, including Jared Smith, PropBetGuy, and John Hyslop. You can read all of our NFL preview content under the Analysis tab.

Boost of the day

New York Mets and Houston Astros both to win today

The Mets take on the Marlins while the Astros battle the Mariners, and FanDuel Sportsbook has boosted the odds on both of those teams winning from +160 to +200.
