Giants vs Raiders Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
LV Raiders Win(-110)

The New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders will battle in one of two games during the 4 o’clock slate, and while both teams have been awful this season, this one has extra implications for the #1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Both teams have lost 9 games in a row, and this matchup marks the first time in the Super Bowl era that two teams amid a 9-game losing streak have ever played. As bad as both teams have been this season, I think Las Vegas has a leg up in this game. First off, they’re coming off a game where they looked somewhat competent in a 23-21 road loss to the Houston Texans. Additionally, it was rookie RB Ashton Jeanty’s best game of the season, and I expect him to feast on a Giants rush defense that’s giving up 5.5 yards per rush attempt (last in the NFL).

I’m not sure if New York can take anything positive out of last week’s 16-13 defeat at home against the Minnesota Vikings. The visitors were playing with backup QB Max Brosner in the second half, and the Giants failed to score an offensive touchdown. Rookie QB Jaxson Dart didn’t complete a pass attempt until the second quarter, and he was just 7-13 for 33 TOTAL passing yards. Although he’s performed well in some games this season, he’s failed to tally 200+ passing yards in 6 of his 10 starts this season. Additionally, his only win came in his debut start way back in Week 4. It’ll be in Dart’s (and the Giants’) best interest to lose this game so he can enter the 2026-27 season with additional support.

A major storyline to watch in this game is the status of Giants LT Andrew Thomas. He exited Sunday’s game against Minnesota and didn’t return, and he’s been a key component whenever New York wins. Over the last two seasons, the Giants are 1-12 when he doesn’t suit up, and that record worsens to 3-18 over the last four seasons. Additionally, this is a tough spot situationally for New York; teams that play on the East Coast the week before playing on Mountain or Pacific Time in December are just 52-72 since 2019. When you look at teams in this spot that are below .500, that record falls all the way down to 17-41. We saw the Giants win a game against the Patriots two seasons ago with a draft spot on the line, which led to New England securing the No. 3 spot and QB Drake Maye. I don’t expect them to make the same mistake, so I’ll gladly back the Raiders on Sunday.

Game Totals Pick
Over 41.5(-110)

Offense definitely hasn’t been either of these two teams’ strong suits this season, but I expect there to be at least 42 points when they meet on Sunday. First off, the Raiders just up 21 points against one of the NFL’s best defenses in the Texans last week, and they still have multiple weapons on offense. Jeanty, TE Brock Bowers and WR Tre Tucker are all having strong seasons, and QB Geno Smith played well last week outside of the early pick-6 he threw. Additionally, they’re scoring 17.9 PPG at home compared to their 14.5 season average and will go up against a Giants defense that’s allowed at least 21 points in 12 of their 15 games this season.

As bad as the Giants offense looked last week, they were going up against DC Brian Flores, who has historically feasted against rookie QBs. Dart and company will have a much easier matchup facing a Raiders defense that’s allowing 25.7 PPG (25th in the NFL). Although they showed some life last week against the Texans, they’ve given up at least 24 points in 5 of their last 6 games and are allowing 26.3 PPG during their 9-game losing streak. Although I’m not confident that this game will be a shootout, a 24-21 or 23-20 scoreline feels realistic, so I’ll back the Over in Las Vegas.
