Jets vs Saints Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
NY Jets +5.5(-112)

The New Orleans Saints will be aiming for a surprising third win in a row when they host the New York Jets in Week 16 of the NFL season on Sunday afternoon. New Orleans is coming off back-to-back victories over Tampa Bay and Carolina, and it could fall further down the 2026 NFL Draft pecking order with matchups against the Jets and Titans on the horizon. Head coach Kellen Moore’s crew might prevail again this weekend given the weak competition, but covering a sizable spread seems unlikely. My Jets vs Saints pick is for the visitors to stay within the number.

New York has won 3 of its last 7 games since beginning the season 0-7. Five of its losses in 2025 have been 1-possession margins. It is true that the Jets get blown out too frequently, but that has generally happened against opponents who are far better than the Saints. In 14 games this season, only twice has New Orleans won by more than 4 points. Alvin Kamara (knee) is among a plethora of offensive players who will be sidelined from Sunday’s contest. The Jets may not be anything special, but there is no way I’m giving 5.5 points with the Saints to anyone other than maybe the Raiders or Titans.

New York Jets vs New Orleans Saints prediction: Jets +5.5 (-112) available at time of publishing. Playable to +4.5.

Game Totals Pick
Under 40.5(-110)

These 2 offenses are among the worst in the business. New York is #29 in yards, #27 in scoring, dead last in passing and has committed the fourth-most turnovers. New Orleans is #26 in yards, #30 in scoring, #27 in rushing and is tied with as many turnovers as New York (20). Rooting for a lot of points in this particular matchup is simply not something you want to do. My Jets vs Saints prediction is Under 40.5.

The Jets bounced back and forth between quarterbacks Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor for much of this year. Now they have turned to Brady Cook — mainly because Fields and Taylor have dealt with various injuries. New York is just playing out the string of games in 2025 and there is no point in sending anyone else out there under center other than Cook, who played the last 2 games and compiled a 1-to-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio in those outings. The visitors can keep this contest competitive not by scoring but by preventing the Saints from lighting up the scoreboard. Tyler Shough has made some highlight-worthy plays at times, but overall the rookie is not the answer at QB for this franchise. Seven starts into his pro career, Shough has 6 TDs and 5 INTs.

New York Jets vs New Orleans Saints prediction: Under 40.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
