Miami Marlins vs Minnesota Twins Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/12/26

Tuesday’s matchup between the Minnesota Twins and the Miami Marlins is a very interesting matchup to me. I find there to be a ton of variance in this game, but I do favor the over on the posted game total. To start, hitting conditions are favorable in Minnesota for this game. With temperatures approaching 70 degrees in Minnesota with wind blowing out to right-center at around 20 MPH, fly balls could have some extra legs this evening. 

Bailey Ober is a flyball pitcher. The 6’9” right-hander ranks 21st percentile in ground ball rate this season, and his low strikeout rate leads to a ton of balls put into play. Miami has been stronger against right-handed pitching this season with a 104 wRC+ and the 12th best wOBA. Ober is not my favorite pitcher to pick on consistently, but I do expect a few runs or more from Miami in this spot.

Minnesota has also been better offensively when facing right-handed pitching. They sit right at league average with a 100 wRC+ which is an improvement from their production against lefties. The Twins will see Eury Perez start this game for Miami. Perez enters with a 5.01 ERA in 41.1 innings of work, but that ERA spikes to 7.43 in his first 13.1 road innings. Like Ober, Perez is a flyball pitcher with his ground ball rate sitting just 20th percentile. He also ranks just 7th percentile with a 13.3%-barrel rate. In these conditions that is worrisome and I favor runs from both sides in this game.
