Miami Marlins vs New York Mets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 05/29/26

Getting to bet on Max Meyer as an underdog is something that interests me given his current form. Miami is priced at plus money today despite Meyer taking the mound. Meyer has been excellent of late, tossing 13 innings of scoreless ball against the Braves and Mets during his last 2 starts. Through 60.2 innings overall this season the right-hander has posted a 2.52 ERA. His strong strikeout production has spearheaded his success, while his league average walk rate and ground ball rate help him chug along. Meyer’s last start was against the same Mets lineup he will face today. New York ranks dead last in wOBA against right-handed pitching so even a close proximity rematch shouldn’t help them too much.

Freddy Peralta is also tasked with a close proximity rematch, facing the same Marlins lineup he saw last trip to the mound. Peralta was less successful in his first matchup, however, allowing 4 earned runs and 2 home runs in his 7 innings of work. Peralta allowed 10 base runners in that start and Miami is closer to a league average offense against righties. Freddy is still an elite arm talent, but he has been more susceptible to poor outings this season. He has also allowed 4 home runs in his last 3 starts which is a bit worrisome. At current pricing I favor the Marlins.
