Pittsburgh Pirates vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 04/26/26

The Pittsburgh Pirates will go for the sweep of the division-rival Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday after earning a 6-3 win in extras on Saturday. It was a thrilling back-and-forth game, as the Brewers matched the Pirates’ scoring in the 4th and 6th innings before failing to do so in the 10th. 

Toeing the rubber for Pittsburgh on Sunday will be Carmen Mlodzinski, who is coming off his worst start of the season after back-to-back shutout showings against the Nationals and the Cubs. His blow up came at Texas in an interleague game, so I’m willing to forgive him for that – especially considering his 3.68 xERA, 3.48 xFIP and 3.68 SIERA all suggest his solid start to the season has not been a fluke. 

Milwaukee will send lefty Kyle Harrison to the mound in an attempt to salvage a game in the series, and Harrison has been quite good at limiting runs thus far. Across 17.2 innings, he’s surrendered just 6 earned runs on 16 hits, all while striking out 18 and walking 7. He doesn’t have much experience against this Pittsburgh lineup, which is good for him considering the Pirates are 20th in OBP against left-handed pitchers this year.

I’m leaning towards a low-scoring game here, but the extra-innings game last night may throw a wrench into the bullpen usage on Sunday. Having said that, I’d rather target the first 5 innings and trust the starting pitchers to suppress runs early before turning to the bullpen.
