Rangers vs Rockies Pickswise Expert Predictions

Run Line Pick
TEX Rangers Win -1.5(+115)

The Colorado Rockies stole the first game of the series from the Texas Rangers with a close 7-6 score, but the Rangers bounced back on Tuesday night with a 10-0 drubbing. It could be much of the same in this game, as Texas sends another young pitcher, Jack Leiter, to the mound to take on a struggling Kyle Freeland.

Leiter is starting to show even more why he was a former second-overall pick after his great 2025 season. The righty has been lights out recently for Texas, allowing just seven hits and one earned run over his last 11.2 innings. His only problem is a brutal control issue, which led him to walk eight batters over those 11.2 innings. The good news for Leiter is that the Rockies have some of the worst eyes in baseball, ranking second in the majors in total strikeouts.

Freeland has been brutal at home this season, owning an 8.79 ERA, which is much worse than a 6.09 ERA on the road. Either way, both marks are bad, and a big reason is that he has given up 19 earned runs over his past three starts. The lefty has been a staple in Colorado for the last 10 seasons because of his reliability while staying committed to playing in the worst pitcher’s ballpark in the MLB, but his numbers are going to have to improve this season to continue that.

The Rockies will play to Leiter’s weaknesses, and there’s no chance you could bet on Freeland after how he has been performing recently. Take Texas to win big again on Wednesday.

Rangers vs Rockies prediction: Rangers -1.5 (+115) available at time of publishing. Playable to that number.
