Both the Senators and Islanders are playing well lately, and the Islanders are knocking on the door of the playoffs. The Islanders have dropped their last 2 games, each by a goal and once in overtime. Their recent losses have not been ugly. But they have to get back in the win column if they are going to keep pace in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Islanders will lean on their top players more and more down the stretch which means their top 2 lines will log more important minutes. Look for New York’s horses to pave the way for collecting 2 points tonight. That being the case, Anders Lee has the best chance for his value to get on the score sheet.
Lee is knocking on the door of another 20-goal season as he has 19 goals and 36 points so far this season. He plays on a very good line with Brock Nelson and Kyle Palmieri, and is also on the top power play with Bo Horvat, Mat Barzal, Nelson and Noah Dobson. Given the important minutes that Anders Lee plays and the teammates he is on the ice with at any time, there is always a chance for production. Even with 2 wins in their last 3 games, the Senators have allowed 13 goals during that span. The Islanders have scored 12 goals in their last 3 games. The door will be open for the Islanders to produce and when they do, Lee has a good chance with -110 value to be a contributor.

This is a matchup that should have Matthew Tkachuk licking his chops. The Panthers have won 4 of their last 5 games, and have points in 10 of their last 13 games. Things look bleak for the Blues as they just snapped a 5-game losing streak in which they had a -13 goal differential. Florida scores the 7th-most goals per game in the NHL, and St. Louis allows the 6th-most along while having the 7th-worst penalty kill in the league. The Blues can be pesky, but for all intents and purposes, this game should be all Panthers. If Florida can take care of business, they will likely be led by St. Louis native Matthew Tkachuk, as they have been all season.
Tkachuk has 27 goals, and his 73 points in 53 games leads the Panthers by a whopping 25 points over the teams’ second point-getter. He plays over 20 minutes per game currently on a line with Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett. Tkachuk is also a stalwart on the top power play with Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart, Aaron Ekblad and Brandon Montour. Whether the Panthers are even strength or on the power play, Tkachuk is consistently on the ice with great players on his team. Look for Tkachuk to have a little extra jump in his step returning home to play in front of family and friends. This is way too favorable of a matchup for the Panthers and for Tkachuk specifically to light up the scoreboard.
