Best player prop bets for Thursday's NBA slate: Harden to keep on getting buckets

After an agonising half a point stopped the Pickswise team from having a perfect NBA player props night last night, we are back with a few more selections tonight. And although we have a much smaller slate of games today, we are being treated to some cracking matchups. The pick of the bunch being a potential NBA finals preview between the Lakers and the Nets, although sadly Durant and Davis will not be playing tonight.

In the meantime, lets have a look at the best player prop selections for each of tonight’s games.

James Harden over 29.5 points (+182)

The status of Kyrie is not yet confirmed for this one and his availability could have an impact on this line. If he sits, James Harden will be tasked with carrying the offence on his shoulders and we could see a repeat of the 38 points he dropped on the Suns. If Irving plays, this line still has a shot of hitting, as with Durant out, Harden is likely to see more shots regardless. He managed 29 against the Kings a few nights back with Irving in the line-up, and with the motivation of a national televised game, could look to go one better tonight.

Whilst the Lakers do represent a tough defensive matchup, they have allowed several guards to have big scoring night against them. Josh Jackson, Anthony Edwards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were all recently a couple of points away from dropping a 30 piece on the Lakers. A guy with the scoring prowess of Harden has the chance to get it done where the others could not. After all, he is still the reigning league scoring champion.

Tyler Herro over 2.5 made threes (+124)

After coming back from missing several games due to health and safety protocols, Tyler Herro has been firing away. He has attempted eight or more shots from deep in each of his last four games, up from a season average of just over six per game. And with Goran Dragic confirmed out, is likely to continue putting up shots tonight, especially considering the opposition.

The Sacramento Kings are 24th in the league in opponent 3-point makes per game, allowing them to shoot at a near 40 percent clip from deep, the second worst rate in the NBA. That should really benefit Herro who has seen his percentage on the season drop to just below 34 percent. But with more easier looks tonight, and a green light to fire away, I wouldn’t be surprised if he smashes past this total and gets to four or five makes on the night.

Khris Middleton under 6.5 assists (-102)

After the injury sustained by Jrue Holiday, it did look like Middleton was ready to assume some of the playmaking responsibilities. He recorded two double digit assist games to begin with but has since followed that up with totals of four, three and ultimately zero in the last game against the Raptors. In the month of February, he has managed to surpass this total in just three of the nine games he has played.

This Toronto squad is stacked full of quality wing defenders. OG Anunoby, Norman Powell, Stanley Johnson and Pascal Siakam all how the physical tools to make Middleton’s life difficult tonight, just as they did a couple of nights back. And with Toronto essentially playing a small ball line up with Siakam at the five, they can switch on every screen, stopping him from getting into the paint and really limiting his playmaking potential. Look for his downward spiral in assists to continue here tonight.
