Thanksgiving Day is upon us and not only does that mean it’s time for great food, but time for some great football action as well. MACtion has already begun this week, and a pair of college games on Thanksgiving Day give us some betting options to consider while we feast on food. Let’s take a look at some best bets for Thursday’s action.
Ole Miss unders have been some of the best bets of the year. The Rebels tend to get high totals due to the potential of their offense, but the under has cashed in 8 of their 11 games this season. In addition, the under has cashed in each of their last 6 games and in 6 of their 7 conference games. Both Ole Miss and Mississippi State have similar trends including high-powered offenses and average defenses, but this is a rivalry game. In rivalry games, both teams come ready to play, and this game will be no different. The defenses should be ready to roll. Look for this to be a close game that stays below the total.
The Bulldogs have been strong against the spread, going 7-4 against the number so far this season. They are playing with some momentum, having won 4 of their last 5 games. Fresno State QB Jake Haener is consistently producing at a high level, and he should be able to have a solid day against a San Jose State defense that has been struggling. The Spartans were out-gained 410-150 last week against Utah State, and they gave up 100 yards in penalties alone. They aren’t playing well enough defensively to be giving away free yardage, so look for Fresno State to take advantage of their opportunities. Fresno State’s defense does a good job of creating turnovers, so they should be able to stymie the San Jose State offensive attack. Fresno State is the all-around better team, and they should be highly motivated, as they can win the West division with a win and a San Diego State loss to Boise State on Friday morning.
