This article and the approach for Anytime TD scorers is an ever-evolving process for me. Through the first 8 weeks, I have not been pleased with my results. We’ve had a few nice hits, but not at the frequency that I’d had hoped.

We are fortunate enough to receive an EXCLUSIVE odds boost from DraftKings Sportsbook to use on an anytime touchdown scorer bet in the Sunday games. This boost will add +100 odds to the player picked, so I will target longshots and more players with realistic odds. I still added two longshot plays I like, but the focus this week will be to hit at a 40% rate. I’ll personally be grouping these players into 3-4 leg parlays and will provide my favorite combo below. Let’s see what Week 9 has in store for us.

The Favorites

Raheem Mostert (+115)

I’m not expecting Jeff Wilson to jump into 10+ carries one week after being traded although he is familiar with McDaniels system. The Bears do not have the ability to keep up with Miami offensively and if this gets ugly, Mostert will see the bulk of the carries in the 2H. Mostert has 2 touchdowns on the year and the Bears have given up 9 rushing TDs on the year.

DeAndre Hopkins (+110)

Hopkins has been back for 2 games and hasn’t missed a beat. He’s had back-to-back 100yard games and 1TD last week. This week he’ll get two rookie CBs at home against Seattle. He has 3 red zone targets through 2 games. With the O/U set at 48.5, I expect Hopkins to grab one of the 7 touchdowns on the day.

Justin Jefferson (+105)

I’m big on Cousins this week throwing 2 passing TDs because of his success against man defenses so this pick naturally makes sense. Thielen has difficulty getting separation at this stage of his career and Jefferson is one of the best route runners in the NFL. Hockenson will not be fully up to speed so expect a healthy dose of Justin Jefferson Sunday.

Joe Mixon + Bengals ML (+125)

I’m adding in the Bengals ML to get this at + odds. Coming off the divisional loss last week I’m expecting a bounce back performance from Burrow and the Bengals while the Panthers are coming off a devastating OT loss to Atlanta. Mixon has scored in 3 of the last 5 weeks and just never got going against Cleveland. The spread is at 7.5 and Mixon should be in line for more carries than the 8 we saw last week.

The Longshots

Kyle Pitts (+250)

Pitts has seen 4 targets in the red zone over the last 3 weeks and both of his TD’s this season have come against man defense according to PFF. The Chargers have been in man the 8th most so far in 2022. Another high total on this game sitting at 49.5, I like Pitts to get in the endzone.

Cam Akers (+400)

I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out. Akers and McVay have been doing damage control this past week when the Rams didn’t move him at the deadline. From a talent perspective, Akers is still the best on the team. It’s in both party’s best interest to make this relationship work. I can see McVay giving Akers a shot to redeem himself and over the last 2 weeks the Bucs rush defense has completely fallen off a cliff. They’re allowing 6.8 YPC to opposing RBs these last two weeks and the Rams are desperate to establish a run game.

Aaron Jones 2 touchdowns (+300)

Jones has two multiple TD games this season and has been the bell cow for these last few weeks in Green Bay. Many are expecting Dillon to finally break out against Detroit’s porous defense, but I’m expecting Jones to continue to see the bulk of carries. Jones has had some of his best games in his career against Detroit.  In 2021, Jones had 4 TDs vs Detroit (3 receiving 1 rush). In 2020, he had 3 TDs vs Detroit (2 rushing 1 receiving). We’ve seen several 2TD scorers this season so I feel comfortable giving this out as a longshot.
