The gelding showed early speed prior to fading into fifth in an eight runner $40,000 maiden claiming contest over a mile on a sloppy main track at Monmouth Park when making his debut in August. The drop in trip appeared to suit when beaten three-quarters-of-a-length into third in a $30,000 maiden claimer over five-and-a-half-furlongs here just under a month ago. Subsequently placed second following the DQ of Nuedorf (who re-opposes here) he looks capable of breaking his maiden here.
The daughter of Curlin showed promise when debuting over a mile-and-one-sixteenth on turf at Belmont Park in May. However she appeared to appreciate the switch to dirt when delivering a second place finish in a mile contest at Monmouth Park the following month. The three-year-old hasn’t been seen in race action since but comes into this on the back of a 48.80 four furlong breeze at Monmouth Park last month and she looks up to recording her first victory.
Diane D Morici’s gelding has made just the two starts to date making the perfect start to his career when drawing five lengths clear of his six rivals in taking out a $25,000 maiden claiming contest at Tampa Bay Downs when debuting in January. The Into Mischief gelding was off then until fading late on when one-and-a-half-length fifth in a $40,000 starter optional claimer over six furlongs at Delaware Park last month. Taken to double his career tally.
