The Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres will actually produce 2 results on Friday in San Diego. They will first resume a suspended contest from July 21 that actually began in Atlanta. The Padres lead 5-4 with the Braves batting in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was the second leg of a double-header 2 months ago, so only a total of 7 innings will be played. That will be followed by a normally scheduled 9-inning contest on Friday night. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Braves-Padres part 2.

Atlanta Braves ML (-142)

Austin Riley to hit a home run (+300)

Freddie Freeman to hit a home run (+310)

Parlay odds: +1674

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as both Austin Riley and Freddie Freeman going deep would obviously work well with an Atlanta win. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs one by one.

Atlanta Braves ML (-142)

One team still has a good chance to make the playoffs (by winning its division). The other is close to being mathematically eliminated. Heading into the 2021 campaign you would have thought both teams would make it, but the Padres have been an abject disaster in recent weeks. The Braves haven’t been great in September, but they still hold a 2-game lead in the National League East. Friday night’s pitching advantage should give the visitors every chance to pick up a big win and put a nail in San Diego’s coffin. It’s Max Fried for Atlanta, while SD is going with a bullpen day. Fried is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA through 4 September starts and the Braves are a dominant 8-1 in his last 9 appearances.

Austin Riley to hit a home run (+300)

Riley isn’t going to win National League MVP, but he is certainly making a late push to be in the discussion. Atlanta’s 24-year-old third baseman really has been good from start to finish this season, but he has been great of late. In August he batted .318 with 6 home runs. Riley hasn’t been quite as hot this month, but he has left the yard in 3 consecutive contests heading into Friday. He is on a 9-game hitting streak and 4 of those 9 have been multi-hit performances.

Freddie Freeman to hit a home run (+310)

Freeman is also seeing it like a beach ball right now. The reigning NL MVP has not been hitting dingers with quite as much frequency as Riley, but given the way he is hitting overall it’s only a matter of time before he hits another one. Freeman has hit safely in 12 of the last 13 games and on an incredible 8 of those 12 occasions he has recorded multiple hits — including 3 twice in the last 4 outings. He homered on Wednesday and it would be no surprise if he homers again at the expense of San Diego’s bullpen.
