The 2022 MLB season continues this weekend, and we have another exciting slate of games on Saturday. One of the best matchups on the board features the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants starting at 4:05 pm ET.

What better way to celebrate this matchup than by betting a same game parlay? I was 1 total base away from hitting this +1342 Rangers vs Astros same game parlay yesterday, and I just hit a Cubs vs Diamondbacks same game parlay at +729 odds last Friday. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Carlos Rodon over 7.5 strikeouts (+100)

Joe Musgrove over 5.5 strikeouts (-110)

Manny Machado to record 2+ total bases (+130)

Parlay odds: +912

We have come up with a 3-leg parlay, which would pay out at more than 9/1 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook.

San Diego Padres vs San Francisco Giants: Start time and how to watch

The Padres and Giants continue their series on Saturday with a start time of 4:05 pm ET. The game is airing exclusively on Fox Sports 1. Let’s get into our same game parlay for this NL West matchup.

Carlos Rodon over 7.5 strikeouts (+100)

To start off this same game parlay, we have Carlos Rodon going over his strikeout prop. Simply put, Rodon has been outstanding in 2022. The former White Sox pitcher has transitioned nicely into this National League, striking out 56 hitters over his first 7 outings. Rodon has established himself as one of the premier pitchers in baseball, and getting his prop at a plus-money price is too good to pass up. The southpaw has gone over his number in 5 of his first 7 starts, and should be motivated after a poor performance against the Cardinals in his last outing.

Saturday’s game is expected to be a low-scoring affair, and a large part of that is due to Rodon’s dominance on the mound. At home against a division rival, I see no reason for Rodon to relinquish his early-season claim to the NL Cy Young award. The left-hander has gone over his strikeout prop in each of his home starts this season, and I expect that to continue on Saturday. Look for Rodon to fan at least 8 batters.

Joe Musgrove over 5.5 strikeouts (-110)

Not to be outdone by Rodon, Padres starter Joe Musgrove has been rock solid in 2022. Musgrove has allowed just 11 runs in 45 innings of work this season, to the tune of a 2.20 ERA. With 47 strikeouts in 45 innings pitched, Musgrove’s stuff has been active and consistent. The right-hander has been the model of consistency, throwing at least 6 innings in each start this season. Therefore, the fact that we’re getting his strikeout prop at 5.5 at this price is good value.

The Giants lineup has been solid, but they can be prone to the strikeout. San Francisco is in the middle of pack across baseball in team strikeouts, and we only need approximately 1 strikeout per inning to clear this prop. As long as Musgrove can throw at least 5 innings, expect him to clear this number.

Manny Machado to record 2+ total bases (+130)

As a rule, including legs that may not correlate with each other always increases your odds in a same game parlay. However, I don’t think Manny Machado having success conflicts with a strong outing from Rodon on the mound. Machado has been a hit machine in 2022. In fact, the third basemen already has 53 hits this season while hitting .363 and driving in 24 runs. He is a clear early-season MVP candidate, and we’re still getting plus-money odds on him to record 2+ total bases.

Even though Rodon is one of the best pitchers in baseball, I see no reason for Machado’s hot start to tail off. At the top of the Padres lineup, he should be expected to get at least 4 at-bats on Saturday. At this price, taking a stab on Machado to have either 2 singles, or just 1 extra-base hit is worth a shot.
