We have a full 15-game slate as the Major League Baseball weekend continues on Saturday. Both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies are in fierce battles for playoff positioning and they are squaring off against fellow contenders in the Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets, respectively. We also need the Colorado Rockies to take care of business.

Los Angeles Dodgers -2.5 (+142)

Colorado Rockies ML (-105)

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 (+155)

Parlay odds: +1203

For this parlay we are going with 2 favorites on the run lines and 1 outright winner. Here is a breakdown of the 3 legs one by one.

Los Angeles Dodgers -2.5 over Cincinnati Reds (+142)

Max Scherzer gets the ball for the Dodgers and to no surprise they are heavy favorites. Since joining his new team, Scherzer boasts a 0.88 ERA with a 0.67 WHIP. He has not allowed an earned run in his 22.0 innings in September and has surrendered only 10 hits to the 76 batters he has faced. Meanwhile, the Reds are slumping at the worst possible time. They are 5-12 in their last 17 games and their offense has been nonexistent of late. The Reds are 4-14 in their last 18 when they have scored 4 runs or less, and it’s hard to see them scoring more than that against Scherzer.

Colorado Rockies ML over Washington Nationals (-105)

It would be hard to argue that the Nationals completely regret the $150 million contract they issued Patrick Corbin prior to the 2019 season, as he was a crucial piece in the team’s World Series-winning run in his first year in the nation’s capital. But Corbin has done nothing since then; in fact, he has provided negative value. After finishing the shortened 2020 campaign with the most hits allowed in baseball, Corbin has somehow been even worse in 2021. The only real upside you can find from his season is that he’s managed to stay healthy through it, and even that might not necessarily be a positive, as it would be hard to find a replacement that is worse. Corbin’s ERA heading into his 29th start of the season sits at 5.98. As for the Rockies, they have finally found a winning formula away from Coors Field. They went into the series with the Nationals having won 5 of 6 against the Phillies and Braves to begin their road trip.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over New York Mets (+155)

Aaron Nola is having an off year, at least by his standards, but he still somehow finds a way to bring his best stuff whenever he faces the Mets. Nola last pitched at Citi Field on June 25, when he tied Tom Seaver’s 51-year-old record by striking out 10 consecutive batters. For New York, Carlos Carrasco missed the first 4 months of the season after tearing his hamstring in spring training and hasn’t looked completely right since returning. His biggest hurdle has been the first inning; that’s when he’s given up 15 of his 24 earned runs this season, leading to a 5.59 ERA through his first 9 National League starts. And while he has been able to settle in after that, the first inning against a lineup of Jean Segura, Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto, and Didi Gregorius is no easy task.
