Week 10 of the NFL has another early game to kick off the Sunday and 5 games with totals under 40 (if you include SNF). This is ugly. The Chiefs, Rams, Eagles, and DOlphins all sit with a bye week and they are 4 of the top 10 scoring offenses in the NFL (when Matt Stafford plays). Montgomery returned to practice this week, but just as important, so did OL Jonah Jackson and Frank Ragnow. Prior to his injury, Montgomery was a red zone phenom. He had 8 rushes inside the 5 yard line for 4 touchdowns and 72% of his teams rush attempts inside the 5. His 25 rush attempts inside the 20 are good for 6th most in the league and all while only playing 5 games. I don’t bet minus odds often in these spots, but this is the best price we’re going to get on Montgomery the rest of the season.

I’m not getting cute here. If you can get Derrick Henry at plus money odds, I’m taking it. Henry has 15 rush attempts inside the 20, good for 68% of the teams rush attempts in that space. He has 4 TD on the year and gets a tough opponent in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (hence the plus money), but touchdowns will be at a premium, and I can’t see Vrabel shying away from Henry on any possessions that land inside the 10. Levis has revitalized this offense with explosive pass plays and improved their time of possession.

The argument could be made that Aaron Jones looked the healthiest he’s been since Week 1. Well, he’s scored in two weeks this season: Last week and Week 1. He played a season high 57% of snaps and faces a Steelers defense that’s allowed a RB to score in 6/8 games. Great odds for Jones reclaiming his starting role.

JSM was back at practice this week and gets the perfect matchup in the Washington Commanders. He’s scored in 2 of the last 3 weeks and has seen a significant snap increase over the last 4 games. At nearly 3/1, I’m all over this line and fading a Commanders defense that’s allowed 13 receiving TD’s to opposing WR’s all season.

Cam Akers is done for the season with a torn Achilles tendon, and HC Kevin O’Connell and OC Wes Philips both expect “more Ty Chandler” this week. O’Connell went as far to say “Ty will be more involved and kind of assume a little bit more of kind of that role Cam was assuming”. That role is 5-7 carries a game and possibly 1-2 receptions. At +750, I’m rolling the dice.
