Welcome to another tremendous Tuesday of sports. Another big MLB slate and some great tennis at Wimbledon are the main events today, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Tigers roar in doubleheader
We don’t say this often but the Detroit Tigers had a great day on Monday, winning both games of their holiday doubleheader against the Guardians, with pitcher Garrett Hill having an impressive first MLB start in the opening game and Jonathan Schoop having a 6-hit day. The Red Sox won for the 8th straight 4th of July, beating the Rays 4-0, but the Blue Jays were upset by the Athletics in a 5-1 loss.

Today’s Slate

15 MLB games today
We have a full 15-game MLB slate today, with the Mariners and Padres getting things started at 4:10 pm ET. Rays vs Red Sox is being shown on TBS at 7:10 pm ET and ESPN+ has Rockies vs Dodgers at 10:10 pm ET. Check out today’s MLB game previews.

Wimbledon reaches quarterfinals
Our man Ricky Dimon is bringing you the best tennis coverage for Wimbledon this week, so be sure to check out today’s best bets for the quarterfinals.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Miami Marlins ML vs Los Angeles Angels
6:40 pm ET

The Angels are in a funk again. They were swept at Houston over the weekend, never scoring more than 2 runs in a game. That is not how you get back into the race and they are now down to 4th place in the AL West. The Angels can jack the ball out of the yard but when that approach fails they struggle to score enough to support mediocre pitching. Miami has won 5 games in a row and are sending out their ace, Sandy Alcantara, and he can at least match whatever Noah Syndergaard posts for the Angels and for longer, too. Read our full game preview for Angels vs Marlins.

Must-read

Our golf analyst Diane Knox Balas has had wins at 10/1, 30/1 and 55/1 in just the last 4 weeks, and the good news is she has picks for both the Scottish Open and the Barbasol Championship this week, which are available now.

Stat of the Day

Novak Djokovic has played 14 sets at Wimbledon this year and none of them have gone to a tiebreaker.

Quote of the Day

“It hurts, but I was in the zone for a little bit. I was ignoring it.”

Joey Chestnut, who had been the -3000 favorite, pushed through the pain of a leg injury to win the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest for a 15th time. His total of 63 dogs consumed cashed the Pickswise pick of under 74.5 at +110 odds!
