XFL Week 6 parlay picks at mega (+1062 odds): Defenders and Roughnecks light up the scoreboard

D.C. Defenders defensive back Nydair Rouse (38) celebrates a tackle with defensive back KJ.Sails (9) against the Vegas Vipers in the second quarter at Cashman Field.

March Madness has taken center stage in the sports world right now, but there’s still plenty of solid XFL action to watch and bet on this weekend. The best matchup of the weekend is on Monday night, as the undefeated DC Defenders take on the Houston Roughnecks. I have taken a pick from 3 of the 4 games this week to create a mega parlay.

Along with our XFL Week 6 predictions, here is my mega parlay that pays out at more than 10/1 odds at Bet365 Sportsbook.

Battlehawks alternate spread -5 (+120)

Brahmas ML (+140)

Roughnecks/Defenders alternate total over 44 (+120)

Parlay odds: +1062

St. Louis Battlehawks -5 (+120) over Vegas Vipers

The Vegas Vipers enter Week 6 with just 1 win, and it came last week against the Orlando Guardians. That Week 5 matchup was the battle of 2 winless teams, as the Guardians now remain without a win after 5 weeks. But it’s not like the Vipers dominated the Guardians, as they won 35-32 and were actually outscored in the second half. Orlando’s offense is arguably the worst in the XFL, so the fact that they scored 32 points against Vegas when they averaged 12.25 points in the first 4 weeks is concerning. The Vipers’ defense will go from Paxton Lynch in Week 5 to AJ McCarron in Week 6, and the difference between those quarterbacks is night and day.

The Battlehawks are coming off of a tough game against the Defenders in Week 5 as DC kept their undefeated hopes alive with a 28-20 win. But the silver lining for St. Louis was that McCarron continued to prove he is the best quarterback in the XFL. He was 22/34 with 236 yards and 2 touchdowns last week against a solid DC secondary, and the former Alabama quarterback should thrive against a weak Vipers defense. I’m taking the Battlehawks’ alternate spread, as I anticipate a big win.

San Antonio Brahmas ML (+140) over Arlington Renegades

After 5 weeks, the Renegades have just 5 touchdowns. They are by far the lowest-scoring offense and have still somehow won 3 games. Their luck has to run out soon enough, and with the Brahmas and Renegades having a rematch this week, it seems like a great time for San Antonio to flip the script. The Renegades won the Week 5 matchup 12-10, but considering the Brahmas had 3 turnovers and were just 2-10 on 3rd down efficiency, they should have lost by a lot more. But because of Arlington’s inability to find the end zone, the Brahmas stayed in the game.

San Antonio closed as -3 favorites in Week 5 and are on the opposite side in Week 6 as they are +3 underdogs in Week 6. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of the Brahmas yet, and if they want to turn their season around, this is a must-win game. At +140 odds, San Antonio has a strong chance to complete the upset.

Houston Roughnecks vs DC Defenders over 44 (+120)

This is the game of the week, and it’s fitting it’s in the primetime Monday night slot. The Defenders are the last undefeated team in the XFL, and the Roughnecks have just 1 loss on the season. While each team has an above-average defense, it has been their offense that has carried them to such a successful season. The Roughnecks have the most touchdowns in the league with 18, and the Defenders are not far behind with 14. Although these teams both score a lot, it’s in completely different ways. The Defenders have rushed for 870 yards with 11 touchdowns as they’ve been the best rushing team by far. For comparison, the Sea Dragons have the 2nd most rushing yards, and they only have 466.

As for the Roughnecks, they rely on Brandon Silvers to beat teams through the air, and so far this season, it’s worked. Houston leads the league in passing touchdowns with 12 as it’s common for Silvers to attempt nearly 50 passes a game. This game should see offense quickly, and I’m backing an alternate over to maximize the value.
