Money Line Pick
Athletics Win(+100)

The Seattle Mariners hit the road for West Sacramento on Monday for the first of a 3-game series against The Athletics. The M’s have been struggling lately, dropping 6 of the past 9 games, so managed Dan Wilson has shaken up his rotation to use veteran RHP Luis Castillo for the opener, while pushing back RHP Bryce Miller. The problem is that Castillo is 1-3 with a 6.50 ERA across 18 IP in three starts and one relief appearances in May. He has had a problem with homers, coughing up 6 bombs in the past six appearances, while also walking 2 or more batters in 6 of the past 7 outings. That’s not a recipe for success.

For the Athletics, RHP Aaron Civale gets the start. He is 3-0 with a 3.43 ERA across 21 IP with 8 earned runs allowed in 4 May starts, and the A’s are 4-0 in those games. He had a no-decision while he allowed 3 runs and 6 hits with a walk and 5 strikeouts in Seattle on April 22 in a 5-4 loss. Like Castillo, he has had some trouble with homers, serving up six in 21 IP in May. However, he has limited the damage, while the A’s have provided 6 runs per game (RPG) of offensive support. Take the A’s on the money line, and if you’re looking for a same-game parlay (SGP), let’s go high on the total, mostly based on Castillo.
