McClanahan faced Baltimore last Monday and will make this start on 6 full days of rest. That first matchup resulted in 5 innings with 6 strikeouts but 4 earned runs allowed thanks to 8 base runners and a home run. Bradish tossed 5.1 innings of 2-run ball on Tuesday with 6 strikeouts to 7 base runners and 1 home run. 

I tend to shy away from backing starters that are facing close proximity rematches, but with both starters in the same boat I am forced to do so. McClanahan is my preferred starter in this rematch for a few reasons. For starters, his underlying metrics are stronger than those of Bradish with his 3.42 xERA and 2.70 FIP outweighing Bradish and his 4.08 xERA and 4.02 FIP. McClanahan also has the softer matchup on paper. Baltimore enters Memorial Day ranked 2nd in wOBA with the 5th worst strikeout rate against southpaw pitching. Tampa Bay sits 5th best in wOBA with the 2nd lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching. At current pricing I side with the Rays on Monday.
