NBA player props are back! I’m excited to get back into the NBA player prop world with my first article with Pickswise this season. With a 6-game slate on Thursday, MVP candidate Jayson Tatum will get it started against the New York Knicks on TNT.

Paying a little juice is worth it when it comes to this player prop. Tatum is averaging 31 points per game, which is the 3rd-most in the league behind fellow MVP candidates Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid. If 31.5 is the only number available, that is still playable for a unit.
Tatum has soared up the NBA player rankings in the last few seasons. The 24-year-old out of Duke came out as a slasher and was not known as a great shooter. Tatum continues to prove all the doubters wrong. He’s making over 3 three-pointers per game and had 6 in his only matchup against the New York Knicks this season.
The Knicks will be without rim protector Mitchell Robinson, who is one of the most feared defenders in the league. Opponents have a 115 offensive rating when Robinson is off the court compared to 112 with the 7’0″ on the floor. High-scorers Dejounte Murray, Trae Young, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and Donovan Mitchell all scored at least 24 points against the Knicks in the last three games. Tatum has scored 30 points in 26 of 46 games this season, including 17 of 21 behind the passionate Boston faithful.

Mikal Bridges is one of the most versatile defenders in all of basketball. His long arms give him the ability to pluck a guard at any point or block a shot into the stands. This unique player prop fits Bridges to a tee.
The Pheonix Suns will be battling it out once again with their most hated foe, the Dallas Mavericks. All eyes will be on superstar Luka Doncic, who is coming off a 40-point performance against the Washington Wizards. His skyrocket usage comes with the turnover territory though. Doncic averages close to 4 turnovers per game, which ranks 3rd-most in all of basketball. Bridges on the other hand ranks in the top 25 in steals and top 40 in blocks per game. He’s been on a tear recently without Devin Booker, who continues to be sidelined.
Over the last 25 games played, Bridges is over this line in 19 of them and has recorded at least 3 blocks and steals in 10 of those games. Bridges is blowout proof. He ranks in the top 10 in minutes played and will be leaned upon on both ends of the court in this marquee matchup on TNT. The Suns come into this matchup as 1.5-point favorites and present the closest game on tonight’s slate.
