We cashed Saturday’s same game parlay for the Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies in incredibly dramatic fashion. With Freddie Freeman homering and Ian Anderson recording seven strikeouts, we only needed the Braves to win. They were down to their final out facing a 3-1 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning before Pablo Sandoval launched a game-tying, two-run homer. Atlanta then erased a three-run deficit in the 12th inning by scoring four runs in the bottom of that frame for a ridiculous walk-off victory.

Let’s try to keep the momentum rolling with this National League East series and take a look at our Sunday same game parlay for Braves-Phillies. Also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.

Phillies ML (-110)

Bryce Harper to hit a home run (+390)

Aaron Nola Over 6.5 strikeouts (-112)

Parlay odds: +1290

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as Bryce Harper going yard and Aaron Nola mowing down batters left and right would obviously go well with a Philadelphia win. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.

Phillies ML (-110)

The Phillies will try to pick up the pieces following yesterday’s disaster, and they should be able to. Vince Velasquez shut down one of the best lineup’s in baseball for more than half of the game on Saturday and now Philly is sending an even better starter to the mound in Nola. The 27-year-old right-hander hopes to build on a sensational start to 2021. He boasts a 2.89 ERA and a 2.44 FIP, the latter number suggesting that he has even better performances ahead. In his previous start against Atlanta this year, Nola worked 6.2 innings and allowed only two earned runs while striking out six. For the Braves, Huascar Ynoa has been in fine form (at the plate, too, for that matter) but he is inexperienced and cannot be considered consistent at this point. The Phillies should ride Nola and make amends for last night’s implosion.

Bryce Harper to hit a home run (+390)

Harper has not hit a homer since April 25, but he hit two on that day and has six on the season. It’s only a matter of time before he gets back in the long-ball grove—and that time may be Sunday. Harper has always been awesome against Atlanta, and so far in 2021 he has two HRs and seven runs scored in 30 at-bats in this head-to-head matchup. All six of his dingers this year have come against righties, so you know that Ynoa on the mound is music to Harper’s ears.

Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Bryce Harper (3) reacts in the dugout during the seventh inning against the New York Mets at Citi Field.

Aaron Nola Over 6.5 strikeouts (-112)

Nola worked 6.0 innings of one-run baseball in Tuesday’s effort against Milwaukee. Another strong performance is likely in the cards and if so it would allow him to work at least into the seventh inning and maybe longer. The 27-year-old has racked up at least seven strikeouts in four of his last five appearances—including 10 on two occasions. Meanwhile, Atlanta has three regulars who have struck out at least 29 times in 2021 and four others who have fanned at least 20 times.
