NFL Week 14 same game parlay (+577 odds): Detroit Lions vs Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (5) hands off the ball to running back Melvin Gordon III (25) against the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field.

Sunday afternoon’s matchup between the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos might not be the most marquee game on this week’s NFL slate, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made. We are enhancing this matchup with a 3-leg parlay that is paying out at +577 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.

We are expecting a low-scoring game, so this parlay features a few unders. Along with this parlay, don’t forget to check out our full game previews for all of this week’s NFL games.

Denver Broncos -2.5 first quarter

Teddy Bridgewater under 1.5 passing TDs (+104)

Lions team total under 15 points (-110)

Parlay odds: +577

Let’s break down each leg one by one.

Broncos -2.5 first quarter (-138)

The Detroit Lions won their first game of the season last week. Not only that, but they did it in dramatic fashion. Jared Goff connected with Amon-Ra St. Brown on an 11-yard touchdown strike on the final play of the game to give the Lions their long-awaited first win of the season. It was an emotional win, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a bit of a letdown out of the gates in this one. The Lions face a tough Broncos team that should be highly motivated, as they are battling for a playoff spot.

The Broncos are coming off a tough 22-9 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. They found themselves in a 10-0 hole after the first quarter, and they couldn’t claw their way back into the game. Needless to say, Denver will be looking to avoid a similar start in this one. They should like their chances, as the Lions have typically been playing from behind this season. Look for the Lions to regress a bit while the Broncos get off to a better start.

Teddy Bridgewater under 1.5 passing TDs (+104)

Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater has 16 passing touchdowns in 12 games this season. That is a respectable number, but he has not had many big days through the air. In fact, Bridgewater has not thrown 2 touchdown passes in the same game since Week 7 against the Browns. The Louisville alum has 4 touchdown passes in 5 games since then.

The Lions don’t have a great passing defense, but they have actually been solid at limiting passing touchdowns in recent weeks. Over their last 5 games, Detroit has allowed 5 total touchdown passes to opposing QBs, and Kirk Cousins was the only QB to throw 2 touchdowns against them in that stretch. The Broncos put an emphasis on running the ball, which could take the ball out of Bridgewater’s hands at times. It’s also worth noting that Bridgewater has thrown 2+ touchdown passes just once at home so far this season. Look for Bridgewater to stay under 1.5 passing touchdowns.

Lions team total under 15 points (-110)

It is no secret that the Lions are struggling to score points this season. The Lions are scoring just 16.9 points per game this season, which 29th in the league. Detroit’s offense has been even more anemic on the road. In 6 road games on the year, the Lions are scoring 15.5 points per game. In addition, they have scored just 26 total points in their last 2 road games. No matter how you slice it, the Lions have a tough time finding the end zone.

Things won’t get any easier for the Lions in this one as they go up against one of the best scoring defenses in the league. Denver is allowing 18.2 points per game to their opponents, and that is the 3rd-best mark in the league. Detroit QB Jared Goff has been under a lot of pressure each week, and that has resulted in the Lions giving up the 5th-most sacks this season (30). The Broncos should be able to put pressure on Goff, and in turn, they should be able hold the Lions to a small amount of points.
