I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. After a huge 14-game Saturday, we’re back to just 3 games on Sunday. However, we’re still here to make it a profitable Sunday for you. We can do so in a big way by putting together our favorite plays into a parlay with mega odds. There may only be 3 games going on, but we have angles in each matchup that we love. It only takes hitting one of these mega parlays to boost your bankroll for days to come.

Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks.

New York Rangers -1.5 (+100) over Detroit Red Wings

If you’re looking for just a single play to make after sprinkling on this mega parlay, this Rangers puck line play is our favorite of the 3. These teams are entering this matchup in very different situations. The Red Wings were just in Detroit to face the other New York team — the Islanders — on Saturday afternoon. While they pulled off an impressive victory, now they have to travel to the Big Apple for this game. Detroit has had a solid start to their season, but it has primarily been due to the play of new goaltender Vile Husso and being at home.

The Wings are 5-1-1 at home, but have just 1 win on the road. Worse yet, Husso was in net for yesterday’s game, making him unavailable for this contest. The last time backup goalie Alex Nedeljkovic was between the pipes, the Wings were crushed 7-3 by the Buffalo Sabres. Meanwhile, the Rangers have been off since Thursday and will be out to avenge a tough loss to the Boston Bruins. That’s far from one they should be ashamed of, as the Bruins are the best team in the Eastern Conference right now. With a tired Wings team without their stud goaltender in net, New York can bounce back in a big way.

Carolina Hurricanes 3-way ML (+105) over Toronto Maple Leafs

We have another matchup featuring teams in different rest situations. The Maple Leafs were just in Toronto last night to take on that aforementioned great Bruins team. Not only did they have to face such a tough opponent, they now have to travel all the way down to Carolina for this matchup less than 24 hours later. That’s all tall enough task as it is, let alone to face a Hurricanes team that has been putting a storm on teams. They’re the 2nd-best team in the Eastern Conference and lead the Metro Division. Carolina has also won each of their last 4 games, which includes a big win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road.

Much like the Rangers, they get to enter this game without having had to play last night. There’s no denying that the Leafs have some of the biggest names in the NHL, but they remain inconsistent. They’ve already lost to both the Arizona Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks this season, the 2 worst teams in the league. One primary reason for their struggles has been goaltending. Their offseason addition of Matt Murray is injured for a few weeks still, and now they will be on the second night of a road back-to-back. The Leafs are simply not set up for success in this matchup.

Florida Panthers +1.5 (+110) over Anaheim Ducks

Now we have a game in which both teams will be on the second night of a back-to-back. That’s what happens when NHL schedule-makers have a massive 14-game slate instead of making things a bit more even. Regardless, this will be the last game of the Panthers west coast road trip after taking on the Kings in Los Angeles last night. Similarly, the Ducks were down the road in San Jose to face the Sharks. Florida is already the superior team, so both teams having to travel to Anaheim for this game only benefits them.

That’s especially true given how terrible the Ducks have been on the defensive end of the ice. Not only have they allowed the most shots per game, they’ve also allowed the most goals per game. Now they have to face a Panthers team that led the NHL in goals per game last season, and is leading the league in shots taken this season. That puts a lot of pressure on goaltender John Gibson. Meanwhile, Panthers backup goaltender Spencer Knight would be a starter on many other teams, such as Anaheim. Florida may be ready to head back home, but they can sink the Ducks before they head back east.
