Show Bio

I'm an NFL handicapper here at Pickswise who was raised in a household full of sports fanatics. Since I unfortunately never had LeBron James' jumping ability I wasn't able to make it to the NBA, and chose writing about sports as the next best thing. An avid sports bettor myself, I'm excited to get to write about the industry as it gets set to take off across the country. Buckle up. First they took away the NFL, and now they’ve taken the NBA, too — but only for a few days. Don’t worry, though; we still have another fantastic Saturday of sports ahead of us, with some NBA all-star weekend action here to tide us over. There’s also NHL, college basketball, and UFC on the schedule, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Cade Cunningham wins Rising Stars MVP
NBA all-star weekend got underway with the Rising Stars event, which got a total makeover this season. The new-look format featured four rosters that had seven players each. There was a mini-tournament, and rookie first overall pick Cade Cunningham ended up winning MVP honors.

Thrillers in the NHL
There was a small NHL slate on Friday with only four games, but they brought plenty of excitement. Two of the games couldn’t be decided in regulation, with the Stars winning a defensive struggle against the Blackhawks 1-0 in a shootout while the Kings beat the Golden Knights 4-3 in overtime. The two games that didn’t need overtime both saw eight total goals scored, so there was tons of action all around.

Today’s Slate

All-star Saturday
One of the most fun NBA days of the year is here, as we’ll get a slew of all-star weekend competitions to bet on. Our experts have cooked up articles for the Skills Challenge and Dunk Contest. This year’s dunk contest will feature electric rookie Jalen Green, as well as Obi Toppin, Cole Anthony, and Juan Toscano-Anderson.

Massive college hoops day

It’s a Saturday, which means another gigantic college basketball card is here. A whopping 20 of the top 25 teams in the country will be playing, and there are four matchups featuring two ranked teams. Be sure to check out our free picks on the side and total for all the biggest NCAAB games on Saturday.

NHL, UFC and Premier League too!
There are seven games on the ice on Saturday, and we have got picks for all of them. UFC Fight Night 201 will take place in Las Vegas, and we have a few best bets. The Premier League also has eight great matchups. And we have a parlay for Saturday’s EPL action that has odds of +868.

Best Bet of the Day

Auburn Tigers -3 @ Florida Gators
2:00 pm ET, ESPN

Auburn is 24-2, but they aren’t getting quite as much respect from the national media as you would think given their record. The Tigers lost to Arkansas a few games ago, but they have bounced back since with a couple of big double-digit wins. Florida shoots only 30 percent from beyond the arc and may have a hard time scoring at the rim, too, with Auburn big man Walker Kessler patrolling the paint. These teams played earlier this season and Auburn won by 12. Read our full game preview for Auburn vs Florida.

Must-watch

Don’t forget to check out our daily show Let’s Bet It! on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/c/Pickswise every day at 10:00 am ET. Today the team will be giving out their picks for today’s NHL and college basketball games and, as always, the Plays of the Day!

Must-read

Saturday has so many college basketball games that betting a mega parlay is a must. My colleague Ricky Dimon cooked one up with +1042 odds! Our NASCAR expert is also looking ahead to Sunday’s Daytona 500, and we also have horse racing picks for Saturday at Laurel Park. Our 2022 MLB team previews are still building up, with the Kansas City Royals the latest team in the spotlight.

Stat of the Day

Boston College is shooting only 28 percent from deep in conference play, the worst mark in the ACC.

Boost of the Day

Kyle Daukaus to win by KO/TKO or Submission vs Jamie Pickett

This odds boost from FanDuel Sportsbook is for UFC Fight Night 201. If you’re a believer in Daukaus, you’ll want to hit this one. You’ll also want to take a look at our four-fight parlay with odds of +772!
