Welcome to another terrific Tuesday of sports. A big MLB slate is the main focus of attention today but there’s no shortage of news in the other major sports and the Stanley Cup Finals moved up a gear with the Lightning’s win last night. Let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Lightning strike back
Things were looking bleak for NHL champions Tampa Bay when they fell 2-0 behind against the Colorado Avalanche with Saturday’s 7-0 loss, but a return home proved just the ticket as they beat the Avs 6-2 last night. Tyler Mortimer had confidently made the Bolts ML a 3-star Best Bet and they came through in impressive style. Mark Lammey’s player prop pick of a Victor Hedman assist also cashed as the Lightning defenseman had two! The Avs are still -300 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook to win the series, but the champions are now just +240 for a three-peat.

MLB parlay cashes
The Pickswise MLB team began the week in fantastic form, going 6-3 on ML/RL picks, an awesome 7-2 on totals and cashing our Monday parlay (Pirates, Yankees and Braves all on the ML) at +479 odds! The Mets shut out the Marlins 6-0 in the afternoon game before the Pirates hammered the Cubs 12-1, the Yankees reached 50 wins by beating the Rays 4-2 and the White Sox held off a late Blue Jays rally to win 8-7.

Keith Schmelter was also on target with his College Baseball World Series best bet of Ole Miss ML (-110).

Today’s Slate

15 MLB games today
We have a full-size 15-game MLB slate today, albeit with no afternoon action. The games get started at 6:40pm ET with TBS showing Giants vs Braves at 7:20pm ET and Cardinals vs Brewers on FS1 at 8:10pm ET. Check out today’s MLB game previews.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 vs Cincinnati Reds
6:40 pm ET

After getting swept by the Brewers over the weekend, the Reds look to be in for another tough series. It speaks volumes for the Dodgers that their series loss to the Guardians feels like the end of the world, since they are a team with World Series aspirations. If they are going to get that far, it’s likely going to be off the back of today’s starter Tony Gonsolin. He has an 8-0 record and has been phenomenal this season. With an all-star lineup supporting him, Gonsolin should get his second win against Cincinnati this season. Read our full game preview for Dodgers vs Reds.
