About Last Night

Suns light up Warriors, Lakers land Best Bet
Our 3-star pick of the Lakers -3.5 was never in doubt, as they crushed the Kings 117-92 on Tuesday. The big game of the night saw the Suns pull clear late to beat the Warriors 104-96, leaving both teams with 18-3 records. The Warriors are still higher up the NBA championship odds at +600 with FanDuel Sportsbook, which has the Suns at +900. The 15-6 Nets, who edged out the Knicks 112-110 in the battle of New York, are favorites at +260.

Stars shine in NHL
We had just 1 3-star pick on Tuesday’s NHL slate, with Under 5.5 cashing on Red Wings vs Bruins, which was part of Pickswise going 6-2 on the totals on the 8-game slate. There were a couple of big comeback wins, with the Panthers rallying from 4-1 behind to beat the Capitals 5-4, while the Blues went 3-0 down to the Lightning in the first period but won 4-3.

No. 1 Duke upset by Buckeyes
Duke’s time as the No. 1 college basketball men’s team will be brief following its 71-66 loss to Ohio State. The Blue Devils (7-1) led 43-30 at the half but collapsed in the second half.

Best Bet of the Day

NCAAB: Virginia Tech vs Maryland Under 132
7:15 pm ET, ESPN2

Virginia Tech and Maryland have played a combined 14 games to begin the season and the under is 10-3-1 in those games. While both teams average 71 points a game on offense, their defenses are the story. The Hokies have the No. 2 scoring defense in the country, allowing only 57 points per game. The Terrapins rank in the top 50 in blocks per game with 5 and they have 3 players averaging at least 1 block per game. Both teams play at a slow pace and are difficult to score against. Take the under. Read our full game preview for Virginia Tech vs Maryland.
