The 2020-21 NBA season as come to an end, as the Milwaukee Bucks finished off the Phoenix Suns in Game 6 of the finals on Tuesday night. It’s not too early to start looking ahead to the 2021-22 campaign, especially because we have some relative down time the next couple of days before the Tokyo Olympics take full flight. There is, however, a full slate of Major League Baseball action on Wednesday and another golf tournament begins tomorrow.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far.

MLB: Houston Astros -1.5 over Cleveland Indians

On the baseball diamond, bettors’ favorite play of the day is on the Astros to win by multiple runs against the Indians. Houston on the -1.5 run line is inspiring a massive 97 percent of the handle and 91 percent of the bets. On the money line, the Astros are -225 favorites. The public certainly isn’t scared away by that juice. A total of 78 percent of the money and 90 percent of the bets are backing Houston to win straight up.

MLB: Chicago White Sox ML over Minnesota Twins

Bettors are also hammering the White Sox in their home date with the Twins. Chicago on the -150 money line is getting 91 percent of the money and 91 percent of the wagers. Punters are quite willing to give the -1.5 runs, too. The Sox are bringing in 65 percent of the handle, and 88 percent of the bets are going in that same direction.

MLB: Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals Over 7.5

When it comes to game totals, the public is all over the over in this meeting between the Marlins and Nationals. A bloated 90 percent of the wagers are supporting Over 7.5 and an even more substantial 96 percent of the money is doing the same. Bettors also like Washington a fair amount in this contest (67 percent of the wagers on Nats +1.5; 62 percent of the wagers on the Nats’ -110 money line).

Golf: Matthew Wolff to win 3M Open

Following last week’s British Open, golfers are getting right back in gear—either at the 3M Open or by taking their talents to the Tokyo Olympics golf event that takes place next week. Even though many of the top players in the world are in Tokyo, the 3M Open features a decent field. Dustin Johnson is a +600 favorite, but it is fellow American Matthew Wolff who is inspiring more action than anyone at +2800. He is getting nine percent of the handle and seven percent of the bets so far.

NBA: Phoenix Suns to win 2021-22 NBA title

The Suns lost the NBA Finals on Tuesday, but more than a fair share of bettors are holding out hope that Chris Paul returns and leads Phoenix to the title in 2021-22. At +1300, the Suns are drawing 30 percent of the money and 11 percent of the bets. The Bucks (+900) are next in terms of the handle at 23 percent. Leading the way in the wagers department are the Golden State Warriors (+1200) at 12 percent.
