Friday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.
I will be looking to back the Twins here behind their starting pitcher, Casey Kelly. He is 13-7 on the season and has posted an ERA of 3.23. He is coming off a complete game shutout over the NC Dinos, and has allowed eight runs over his last 35.0 innings of work. He also has dominated this Kia team, allowing two runs over 13.0 innings against them.
Dew Gagnon will start for the Kia Tigers and he is 10-6 with an ERA of 4.05. His lone start against the Twins saw him allow five runs over 4.0 innings. Gagnon has been decent at best recently, allowing 11 runs over his last 29.2 innings.
I still would give the Twins the pitching edge here and as a result, would take them on the money line.
Even though the NC Dinos starter, Drew Rucinski, has been so good this season, the one team he has struggled with is this Giants team. It is a rather small sample size of one game, however Rucinski allowed eight runs in this game over just 5.0 innings. Seung-heon Lee from the Giants has struggled against the Dinos, allowing six runs over 4.2 innings in his lone start.
The Dinos have seen four of their last five games go over this total and are averaging 7.2 runs over this stretch. Their defense has been even worse during these five games, allowing an average of 8.4 runs. The over has cashed in seven of their 11 head to head meetings this year, so knowing Rucinski had troubles with this lineup has me looking to the over here as well.
We will be looking to back a lower scoring game here as a familiar face in Odrisamer Despaigne will make the start for the KT Wiz. He is 15-7 on the season and has an ERA of 4.26. His last five starts have not been great, but what we are looking for is the continued dominance against the Wyverns. Despaigne is 3-0 against the Wyverns and has an ERA of 1.29. In these three starts, he has allowed three runs over 21.0 innings.
The starter for the Wyverns will be Soo-min Jung, who made his season debut just under a week ago. He threw 4.2 scoreless innings, so I am expecting him to follow up that performance with another good outing here. The Wyverns are also scoring 5.8 runs an allowing 2.8 runs per game over their last five games. As a result, I am backing the under here.
