It’s a cross-conference matchup tonight at TD Garden as the Boston Celtics welcome Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks to town. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm ET on ESPN, and I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay to make things a bit more interesting.

I was really disappointed with the way Dallas played in its last game against Denver, losing 98-97 to a team that was without its best players. This is a good bounce-back opportunity, I’m expecting them to be a lot more competitive against the East champs tonight. Boston just had a 9-game streak snapped on the road in Chicago, and could be without leading scorer and MVP candidate Jayson Tatum as he’s a game-time decision with a left ankle sprain. There’s a good chance the Cs will decide to rest him for precautionary reasons. After all, we are still only in November and you don’t want to risk your best player getting hurt which could ruin the rest of your season. The Mavericks already have one of the best defenses in the league, ranking 4th in defensive rating (108.7), and they have a 4-1 SU record over the last 5 games against Boston. Let’s hope Luka and co. can pull out the win on the road.

Luka Doncic didn’t have the best of games against the Nuggets. While he did get close to another triple-double, he shot just 2-for-8 from 3-point land and turned the ball over 4 times. I’m expecting him to be a lot more aggressive in tonight’s game. He’s making 2.4 threes per game in November, which is actually an improvement of 0.4 per game compared to the previous month. His efficiency is also up from range, around the 34% mark. He’s been way better than that in head-to-head meetings with the Celtics, though. In 7 career games he’s knocking down an impressive 4.6 threes per game against them while attempting 8.7 shots per game. That’s good enough for 52.5%, which is just absurd for anyone not named Stephen Curry. He’s cleared this line 3 times in the last 4 games against them. Boston’s 3-point defense is one of the rare weaknesses they have this season – teams are shooting 36.1% against them from the perimeter, the Bulls just made 14 threes against them while shooting 48.3%. Luka doesn’t shy from letting it fly from distance, he even has a game in which he attempted 11 three pointers this month. If he can knock down a couple early in the game, the Celtics are in big trouble.
