Golden State Warriors -5 (-108)

The time has finally come for Stephen Curry to return to the Warriors lineup. Steph last played exactly a month ago and the Warriors have gone 7-4 SU in 11 games since then, and they’re riding a 5-game win streak. Some people might assume there will be rust in his game, but I’m not one of them. Curry has faced the Lakers once this season and dropped 33 points on them on opening night in October. Since then the Warriors have lost both meetings against LA with him being out, that stat alone should be an encouraging factor here as the Warriors seek revenge. Along with Steph, the Warriors could have Andre Iguodala back and his veteran presence and leadership will be invaluable as we approach the postseason.

LA has lost 2 of 3 games as it continues life without LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell. Starting point-guard Dennis Schroder is still bothered by the ankle sprain he sustained against OKC, we saw him go just 3-for-13 from the field against the Timberwolves. Having to run around and guard Curry all game certainly won’t make his life any easier today. For a team that’s only 7-23 SU on the road this season, wining by 5 points sounds like a lot, but the Warriors have been on an upward trajectory for a while now. With Steph coming back they’ll only improve. I think they’ll handle the shorthanded Lakers in this one.

Klay Thompson 4+ made threes (-140)

Klay Thompson’s numbers have been really good for a while. He’s averaging 25.6 points per game in his last 10, while making 42.4% of his threes. With Steph coming back his usage rate might dip a little, but with opposing defenses having another player to focus on offense, I think Thompson’s efficiency will stay the same if not get better moving forward. He hasn’t had the best of games against the Lakers this season, averaging just 18.3 points per game in 27.3 minutes played, so this is the perfect game for him to show everyone on the biggest stage that he still has it. He’s cleared this line 8 times over his last 11 games. In February he was making 5.4 threes a night with his shooting percentage improving by 2.3% compared to January. LA had serious issues guarding the perimeter against Minnesota, allowing the Timberwolves to shoot 41.2% from three. Imagine what a team having Curry, Thompson and Poole will do to them. I’m backing Klay to dominate.

Anthony Davis to score 35+ points (+280)

The Lakers have no other choice but to go through Anthony Davis. Their leading scorer is out, along with their point guard, which translates into 45 points per game they have to make up for somehow. Golden State has been average at best when it comes to defending the paint this season and teams are scoring 49.6 points per game against them on the inside. Davis does most of his damage from up close, so this is an ideal situation for him. We saw him score 38 in a loss against the Timberwolves, with Rudy Gobert guarding him most of the time. The Warriors don’t have a center on their roster that can match the size of Davis, so expect him to be productive.
