Only 3 games are on the NBA program this Thursday, but the folks at NBA TV still have a tasty doubleheader for us. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm ET in Miami as Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers come to town. I’ve pieced together a Same Game Parlay to add some more excitement to that matchup, but make sure you also check out our NBA Predictions for picks on the side and total for tonight’s 3-game slate. Kawhi Leonard to score 20+ points (+460)

Leonard is slowly ramping up his production as he returns from a knee injury that has limited him to just 7 games played so far this season. Last night he put up 14 points in the loss at Orlando on a not-so-efficient 4-for-15 from the field. That was his 2nd game since returning to the lineup. Obviously, he will need some time to get back into proper NBA shape, but playing against a shorthanded Miami squad is a nice opportunity to have a solid offensive output.

The Heat have struggled defending the three-ball lately, allowing 46.3% of shots made in their last game. So far this season they are 16th in the NBA in opponent three-point percentage, allowing 35.6%, so maybe he won’t have to drive the ball to the basket as much here. He went 2-for-6 from three in Orlando last night, while against Miami, in his last 5 games he’s recorded 4, 4, 3, 2 and 3 threes. Let’s hope he can make the most out of Jimmy Butler not defending him in this one.

Under 216 points (-110)

This should be a very low-scoring game featuring elite defenses and poor offenses. The Clippers rank dead last in points per game but make up for that weakness by ranking in the top 5 in defensive rating and opponent points per game. The Heat are slightly worse defensively, but they still rank very well with the 11th-best defensive rating and 9th in opponent points per game.

The Heat should be able to shut down a fatigued Clippers offense that might also be missing several players on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. The Clippers are also likely to limit a shorthanded Miami lineup that ranks 28th in points per game. This should be a low-scoring, physical game featuring little offensive production.
