Memphis Grizzlies ML (-355)

The Lakers might be catching steam lately, and their 27-point comeback against the Mavs over the weekend was impressive, but they’re playing the Memphis Grizzlies, who have lost just 5 of 30 home games this season. Add to that the fact that LeBron James will miss this game, and the Lakers’ chances of winning aren’t good. LA did win the first meeting of the season, 122-121 at home, in the what is now known the “Shannon Sharpe game”. The Grizzlies have struggled a bit since, but they just celebrated a strong home win over the Nuggets, holding them to just 94 points. Ja Morant and co. are only missing Steven Adams, while the Lakers will most likely be without LeBron and D’Angelo Russell. Without two of their starters, I think the Lakers will fall on the road in this one.

Tuesday’s NBA mega parlay has +993 odds!

Anthony Davis to score 25+ points (-220)

The recent resurrection of AD has been everything the Lakers fans have hoped for. The big man has dominated the glass, but he’s also scoring in bunches whenever needed. He dropped a cool 30 on the Mavericks this weekend, with James out of the line-up he automatically becomes the focal point of the offense for LA. In his last 3 games vs Memphis he’s scored 35, 22 and 22 points, so I think getting to 25 shouldn’t be too much of an ask here. Memphis really struggles without Adams defending the interior, opponents have taken full advantage of his absence. AD’s biggest advantage here is his size, but also the experience he has over Jaren Jackson Jr., hopefully he can take advantage of that in tonight’s game.

Jarred Vanderbilt to score 10+ points (+120)

LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell combine to average 43 points per game, that’s how many points Lakers head coach Darvin Ham will have to dig up from somewhere. Jarred Vanderbilt is the perfect player to contribute in tonight’s game, he’s one of those players who elevates their game when playing on the road. He just dropped 15 on the Mavs in their building, knocking down 6-of-8 shots from the field, while also grabbing an unreal 17 rebounds. The energy he brings is contagious and after that performance on Sunday he will surely get another 20+ minutes of playing time. In his last game against Memphis he dropped 12 points in just 24 minutes, and I think he will be able to replicate that performance tonight. The Grizzlies allow the 3rd-highest amount of threes per game at 13 a contest, so even Vanderbilt, who is at 34% from three this season, should be able to make at least one three.

Desmond Bane over 2.5 made threes (-128)

The Lakers aren’t good at defending the three either, and in their last 3 outings teams have knocked down an average of 13.7 per game, with Dallas making 20 of them on Sunday. That type of effort around the perimeter won’t go unpunished in tonight’s game as the Grizzlies are well equipped with shooters from distance. One of those is Desmond Bane, who is averaging 39.4% made threes over his last 9 games. Bane’s numbers tend to rise when playing at home, he’s at 42% of made threes at FedEx Forum. In January against the Lakers he made 2 of 4 from distance, he’s been around 3 threes made per game in January and February. Losing a defender as good as Patrick Beverley should also help as he doesn’t have to worry about being chased around the perimeter. After seeing him score 24 and 25 in 2 of his last 3 games, I think Bane should be able to make at least 3 threes.
