UFC on ABC 2 Best Bets

Main Card

Marvin Vettori to Win by Decision (+165)

Marvin Vettori comes into this fight as the heavy favorite and is 6-2-1 in the UFC. Vettori has now won four fights in a row with his last loss coming back in 2018. He is a solid striker, averaging 4.78 significant strikes per minute. He also absorbs 3.19 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 66 percent.

The lack of focus we saw from Kevin Holland in his recent fight against Derek Brunson is a big concern here, so the fact that he is fighting three weeks later makes me believe this is Vettori’s fight to lose. Four of Vettori’s wins in the UFC have come by decision and with his striking ability, I think we see a dominate performance from the Italian and he extends his win streak.

Arnold Allen vs. Sodiq Yusuff, Fight to go the Distance – Yes (-175)

Sodiq Yusuff comes into this fight 5-0 in the UFC, most recently beating Andre Fili back in January of 2020. Yusuff has proven to be an excellent striker, averaging 6.10 significant strikes per minute. He has a striking accuracy of 49 percent. His striking defense is 58 percent and he is absorbing 4.08 strikes per minute.

Arnold Allen comes into this fight 7-0 in the UFC and looks to be closing is on a potential title shot. Allen is averaging 3.19 significant strikes per minute and is landing them 41 percent of the time. He is absorbing just 2.00 strikes and has a striking defense of 67 percent.

This is a fight that looks like a stalemate. Both fighters have been flawless in the UFC and I think we are going to see a full three-round fight. Five of Allen’s seven UFC fights have gone the distance and three of Yusuff’s five UFC fights have done the same. For that reason, I like this fight to go the distance.

Preliminary Card

Jack Shore Money Line (-175)

Jack Shore comes into this fight with an MMA record of 13-0. He is 2-0 in the UFC, winning both of these fights by submission. Shore is averaging 3.69 significant strikes per minute and is landing them 54 percent of the time. In the UFC, Shore is absorbing only 0.59 strikes and has a striking defense of 76 percent. Grappling is where Shore is going to try and dominate, averaging 5.16 takedowns per every 15 minutes.

Even though Hunter Azure has looked more than capable on the ground, Shore looks like he is even better. Shore also has been able to limit pretty much all damage in the UFC so far, making me believe he will be able to stay undefeated.
