Good morning, Pickswise Nation. We have a busy Sunday ahead with a big MLB slate plus Wimbledon, MLS, USFL, golf, F1 and NASCAR action. Let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Marlins land our Best Bet
Saturday’s MLB slate was a monster with 17 games but our only 3-star play of the day of the Marlins ML cashed, as Miami beat the Nationals 5-3 for their 10th win in the teams’ last 11 meetings. The Yankees won both games of their double-header in Cleveland, and the Rays recorded a pair of comfortable wins over the Blue Jays in Toronto. The Cardinals hit an amazing 4 home runs in the first inning against the Phillies but just held on to win 7-6.

Today’s Slate

Full slate of MLB
We have a 15-game slate of MLB on this holiday weekend, with Peacock showing the early game between the Royals and Tigers at 12:05 am ET and the Cardinals meeting the Phillies on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN at 7:0o pm ET. ESPN+ has Red Sox vs Cubs at 2:20 pm ET. Check out our picks for all today’s MLB action.

There’s tennis, USFL, MLS, F1 and NASCAR, too
There was some more great drama at Wimbledon yesterday and Ricky Dimon has the best bets for the middle Sunday, which is no longer a day of rest in the London Grand Slam event. Check out our picks for today’s MLS soccer, Stallions vs Stars in the USFL championship game, NASCAR’s Kwik Trip 250 and the F1 British Grand Prix, which starts at 10:00 am ET.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: New York Yankees ML vs Cleveland Guardians
1:35 pm ET

The Yankees outscored the Guardians 19-5 in yesterday’s doubleheader and it was their 6th win in their last 7 games. Jordan Montgomery is on the hill for New York, who have won his last 7 starts. The lefty gets a favorable matchup against the Guardians, who rank 28th in batting average against left-handed pitching. Cleveland’s Triston McKenzie has a lot of potential, but he’s not meeting expectations just yet. The right-hander has a 4.03 ERA with a 4.71 xERA through 80.1 innings. His high barrel rate is not good to have against a Yankees team that has power from the first to the last spot in the order, though. Check out our full preview of Yankees vs Guardians.

Stat of the Day

Today’s White Sox starter Lucas Giolito has given up 24 hits and 17 runs in his last 3 starts.

Quote of the Day

“He has some good traits in his character as well, but … he also has a very evil side to him.”

Stefanos Tstsipas was not impressed with Nick Kyrgios’ behavior during their explosive match at Wimbledon yesterday, which the Australian won 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6.
