Show Bio

I'm an NFL handicapper here at Pickswise who was raised in a household full of sports fanatics. Since I unfortunately never had LeBron James' jumping ability I wasn't able to make it to the NBA, and chose writing about sports as the next best thing. An avid sports bettor myself, I'm excited to get to write about the industry as it gets set to take off across the country. Buckle up. We’ve got a big Tuesday night coming up. The NBA and NHL will continue their respective postseasons tonight, and we also have a full MLB slate with every team in action. Let’s get straight into making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Huge night in MLB for Pickswise Nation
We couldn’t have asked for a much better day on the diamond. Not only did we hit our regular daily parlay at +718, we also hit our mega parlay at +1156 and all three of our MLB three-star best bets. Fortunately, we’ve got another three-star best bet for Tuesday’s action, and you can find it over at our MLB Best Bets page.

Celtics strike back
Monday felt like a must-win game for the Celtics as they fought to avoid going down 3-1, and they came through with a 116-108 victory over the Bucks. Things are now knotted at 2-2 with the series heading back to Boston. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies put forth a valiant effort without Ja Morant, but ultimately came up just short as they blew a late lead and lost by three to the Warriors.

Avalanche complete sweep
Monday saw four more NHL playoff games take place, and one series got closed out as the Avalanche beat the Predators to win that one 4-0. Meanwhile, the Penguins took a 3-1 lead over the Rangers with their dominant 7-2 win.

Today’s Slate

Two big Game 5s
We’ve got two more NBA playoff games on Tuesday, and both of them are pivotal Game 5s where the teams are all tied up at 2-2. 76ers vs Heat to get us started at 7:30 pm ET and then it’s Mavericks vs Suns in the nightcap, with both airing on TNT. Read our preview of today’s NBA games.

16 MLB games on the schedule
We had a reduced MLB slate on Monday but we’re back with a full card on Tuesday, which includes a whopping 16 games thanks to an A’s/Tigers doubleheader. One of the highlights of the day is a showdown between the Red Sox and Braves, televised nationally by TBS at 7:20 pm ET. Read our preview of all today’s baseball games.

Something has to give in the NHL
If you thought two Game 5s in the NBA that are both 2-2 was a lot, just look at the NHL. There are four different hockey Game 5s on Tuesday, and all of them are currently tied at 2-2.  We’re going to learn a lot more about who will be advancing to the second round very shortly. Check out our picks for today’s NHL games.

Best Bet of the Day

Minnesota Twins +1.5 over Houston Astros
7:40 pm ET

Taking the Twins +1.5 makes a lot of sense considering they’ll have emerging young ace Joe Ryan on the mound. Ryan has a 1.63 ERA on the year and has yet to allow more than two runs in a start. Minnesota got off to a rough start in the first couple weeks of the season, but they’ve since gone 14-3 in their past 17 games. Houston’s offense has been a bit of a disappointment, and they certainly aren’t anything to be too afraid of at the moment. The Astros rank just 27th in MLB in batting average. Check out our full preview of Astros vs Twins.

Must-watch

Start your week the right way by watching our daily sports betting show Let’s Bet It!

Lauren Jbara and Jared Smith will host, and they’ll be joined by Pickswise golf analyst Diane Knox Balas, who will break down the AT&T Byron Nelson. Lauren and Jared will also be giving their best bets for today’s NBA, NHL and MLB action as well as their Plays of the Day.

Check out the show at 10:00am ET on our YouTube channel at youtube.com/c/Pickswise. You can also access the show through Spotify and Apple Podcasts (search for Let’s Bet It Presented By Pickswise).

Must-read

If you miss Diane’s appearance on Let’s Bet It, have no fear. Thankfully, she also wrote an article detailing her picks for the AT&T Byron Nelson. We also have our MLB mega parlay (+1141 odds) as we look to make it two in a row.

On top of that, we have same game parlays for 76ers vs Heat and Mavericks vs Suns, along with today’s best NHL player prop bets.

Read all our great sports analysis as it arrives throughout the day on the Analysis tab.

Stat of the Day

The Heat were the NBA’s best three-point shooting team this season, but they’re at just 29 percent from beyond the arc in their series against the 76ers.
