Good morning, Pickswise Nation! It’s Wednesday and we have another tidy slate of MLB action along with some tennis, while anticipation builds for tomorrow’s two PGA Tour golf events starting tomorrow — the Barbasol Championship and Scottish Open. Let’s dive into making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Pirates upset Yankees as player prop cashes
We saw a few upsets on yesterday’s MLB slate but none were bigger than the Pirates beating the dominant Yankees 5-2, while the A’s once again got the better of the Blue Jays. As for Pickswise, props expert Javan Shouey had a winner as his best bet of Hendricks under 17.5 outs cashed.

Djokovic survives scare from Sinner
Novak Djokovic showed why he is a tennis juggernaut after he came from 2 sets down to beat Jannik Sinner and advance to the Wimbledon semifinals. That is good news for our men’s singles 3-star play from the start of the tournament. We also saw Ons Jabeur advance to the women’s semifinals, which keeps our +900 futures play alive.

Today’s Slate

Action begins at 1:10 pm ET with Guardians vs Tigers, and that carries through to the Rockies vs Dodgers at 10:10 pm ET. Check out today’s MLB game previews.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: New York Mets ML over Cincinnati Reds
6:40 pm ET

There is simply too wide of a talent gap between these teams and New York should be able to handle Graham Ashcraft and the Reds’ abysmal bullpen. There’s been plenty of promise surrounding the rookie, but he still needs time. He just allowed 7 runs in just 2.1 innings against the Cubs. That Chicago lineup is nowhere near as potent as New York’s. The Mets led the league in runs for nearly all of June, and are still within the top 5. Such a deep lineup sets up for a bad time for the Reds all throughout the game. Their relievers have been the worst this season by far. They have the only bullpen ERA above 5.0, and are nearly a full run worse than the next-worst team. It’s not hard to see why the Reds will be one of the last teams to 30 wins, and shouldn’t get any closer on Wednesday. Read our full game preview for Mets vs Reds.

Stat of the Day

Over their last 7 games, the Rangers’ bullpen has an ERA of just 1.40.
