I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. After another 2-0 night, we’re 5-1 over the last 3 days. The loss was a classic case of the other skater mentioned in the article hitting the prop rather than the listed player, so be sure to read our full breakdowns! Sundays generally provide us fewer options, but we’ve still got 5 games on the board today. Despite just a handful of games, there are several great spots. Before we dive in, we love the Sharks vs Sabres matchup for skaters to perform well. However, we’re going to provide some variety and value elsewhere, so let’s check out our favorite plays.

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

David Perron over 0.5 points (-135)

Our first play came down to Dylan Larkin and David Perron of the Detroit Red Wings. Given the price point for the overall point prop, Perron is the way to go. Taking Larkin’s assist prop should also be a consideration, as they should both be in for great games. The Wings are taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have been right alongside the Anaheim Ducks in terms of the worst in the NHL in several categories. That includes goals allowed per game, which is why Detroit defeated them 6-1 already this season. That was a game also in Columbus.

Therefore, several Wings skaters are likely to record points, but instead of worrying about who is on which line, Larkin and Perron have been paired together on the power-play unit all season. Not only are the Jackets allowing just under 4 goals per game, the Red Wings are the 5th highest-scoring team on the road over the last month. It also doesn’t hurt that Perron has 46 points in 46 games against the Jackets, including a 4-point performance last season. Don’t get discouraged if you see others record points before Perron, as all of Detroit should get theirs tonight.

Kyle Connor over 0.5 goals (+130)

The Winnipeg Jets skaters have heavily priced props today, and it’ll make sense as to why as we break down their matchup. However, we’re getting great plus-money with the Jets’ highest-volume shooter. This play is listed as low at -105 on some books, so be sure to grab the best price. Kyle Connor is coming off a season in which he has 47 goals, which was tied for the 5th-most in the NHL. Now he gets to take on the worst team in the NHL, the Ducks. He and the Jets have faced them already this season, and Connor had a hat-trick in that game. We just need him to find the net once this afternoon, and he should do just that.

The Ducks allowed 5 goals yesterday, and are the only team in the league allowing more than 4 goals per game. If that didn’t sound bad enough, they’re even worse on the road. When outside of Anaheim, the Ducks allow a ridiculously-high 4.47 goals per game, again the worst in the NHL. Connor and the Jets will also be out to rebound after an embarrassing loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. They’ll be well-rested, while Anaheim was in Minnesota yesterday afternoon and lost in a shootout to the Wild. Expect Josh Morrissey to notch another assist today, but we’re going with the value of Connor finding the back of the net.

Be sure to check out our NHL mega parlay (+951 odds!) – we’ve cashed 2 already this week!
