Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears NFL predictions, odds, spreads & betting lines: Aaron Rodgers and Packers are reeling

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) directs teammates during the second half \against the New Orleans Saints at TIAA Bank Field.

It will be an NFC North showdown when the Green Bay Packers visit the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon. That Chicago is out of the playoff picture at 3-9 is no surprise. However, Green Bay registering at 4-8 through 12 weeks is shocking. It is absolutely must-win situations for Aaron Rodgers and company the rest of the way if they want to make the playoffs, and even running the table might not be enough.

Here are our predictions and best bets for this Packers-Bears showdown.

Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears expert picks

We have 2 NFL picks for this week’s clash between Green Bay and Chicago. Let’s take a look.

Against the spread pick: Bears +4.5 (-110) over Packers

Rodgers is banged up and the Packers are going nowhere, but he still plans to suit up for this division-rivalry game. Jordan Love is going to have to pry the job from his cold, dead hands. Chicago has a banged-up quarterback of its own, but it looks like Justin Fields is going to return on the heels of a 1-game absence. The Bears’ offense, which had been ascending prior to his injury, predictably struggled without him when Trevor Siemian took over. Believe it or not, Siemian doesn’t have the same game-breaking ability with his legs. Fields is averaging almost 107 rushing yards over his past 6 games and Jalen Hurts carved up the Packers on the ground a few weeks ago. Green Bay has struggled to stop the run for years now and Fields looks nearly impossible to bring down sometimes. The Packers beat the Bears in Week 2, but that game was at Lambeau Field and a lot has changed since then. At the time the Bears had not unlocked any of Fields’ potential and the Packers were still seen as a playoff team. The Pack have lost 7 of their past 8; their only win during this stretch has come at home in overtime. They are 1-5 on the road this season and Rodgers isn’t the only key player dealing with an injury. Left tackle David Bakhtiari will miss this game after having an appendectomy. We’re backing Chicago with the points.

Over/Under totals pick: Under 44.5 (-110)

Both teams are going to be running the ball like crazy. When these teams played in Week 2, Fields attempted only 11 passes. The Packers like to run it a ton as well, and Chicago’s run defense can sometimes be abysmal. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon both got 15+ carries the last time these teams played, and that game had only 37 total points. Rodgers looked significantly hobbled by his injury on Sunday Night Football last week and he likely won’t be close to 100%. He is going to try to gut it out, but it wouldn’t be shocking if we once again saw some Love action. Fields isn’t going to be 100%, either, and we know the team is going to be cautious with him because they sat him last week. He might be taking off to run a little less than usual, which would certainly lower the offensive ceiling of this game.
