NFL Tennessee Titans vs Philadelphia Eagles expert predictions

Both teams have been tremendous this season, but it’s the Eagles who have stuttered in recent weeks. They fell to the Commanders 3 weeks ago before needing a late comeback to see off the struggling Colts, and last week struggled to put away the Packers even after Aaron Rodgers left the game. The Titans will like their chances of causing an upset here, especially behind juggernaut running back Derrick Henry.

Tennessee Titans vs Philadelphia Eagles expert picks

We’ve got 2 standout NFL picks for the clash between the Titans and Eagles.

Titans vs Eagles point spread pick: Titans +4.5 (-110)

It was a dogfight between the Titans and Bengals in Tennessee on Sunday, and although Cincinnati came out victorious, it wasn’t for the Titans’ lack of effort. With less than 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Titans defense had an excellent stand that forced the Bengals to attempt a field goal up 4. But a penalty by the Titans on the field goal attempt sealed Tennessee’s fate. On the bright side, there were so many positives from the game for the Titans, as their defense held Joe Burrow to just 20 points and 5/14 on third downs. Ryan Tannehill looked sharp for a second straight week, and Derrick Henry continued to be a threat on the ground and in the air. It was just their 2nd loss in their last 9 games, and they will be facing a Philadelphia team that leads the league in wins but has had several scares in recent weeks.

The Eagles soared through the first half of the season, but they’ve shown vulnerability recently. In the last 3 weeks, they’ve lost to Taylor Heinicke and the Commanders, won by 1 point against the Colts under Jeff Saturday, and held on for a win against Jordan Love and the Packers after Aaron Rodgers exited. The Philadelphia offense took advantage of Green Bay’s atrocious run defense as Miles Sanders and Jalen Hurts combined for 300 yards on the ground, but they shouldn’t expect to see the same success against Tennessee. The Titans allow the 3rd fewest rushing yards per game and the fewest rushing yards when they’re on the road, so they will force Jalen Hurts to stay in the pocket and force accurate throws. With the most dominant running back in the league and above-average defense, the Titans can keep this game close enough to cover the +5.5 spread.

Titans vs Eagles Over/Under totals pick: Under 44 (-110)

This game will feature two very different teams. The under has hit in 7 of Tennessee’s last 8 games since they rely on the run game on offense and then have an exceptional defensive line. As for the Eagles, the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games as they boast a powerful offense that scores on the majority of their drives. However, I lean towards the under in this game since the Tennessee defense matches up very well against the Philadelphia offense.

Jalen Hurts will not have many opportunities to run, and that has been one of the most common ways the Eagles have picked up first downs. The Titans will put a lot of pressure on Hurts since they rank 10th in sacks this season, and for that reason, I think we will see more 3 and outs than usual from Philadelphia. If the Titans are going to keep this game close, it will be played more towards their style of football, which means a running clock and a low-scoring battle. This game has a 20-17 feel to it, so for that reason, I’ll back the under.
