It’s the second meeting of the season between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers as they collide at the Crypto.com Arena tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 pm ET and you can catch the game live on TNT as part of their double-header.

The Lakers are a hot mess right now. They are just coming off an embarrassing 123-95 home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans and to make matters even worse, videos of Lakers players arguing with home fans from that game are surfacing online, which is not a good look for the historic franchise. Dallas is coming off a big road win over the Golden State Warriors as they came back from 21 points down in the 3rd quarter to win by 6. The Mavs are 7-2 SU in their last 9 games and they’ve covered the spread in 8 of those matchups. Against a Lakers team that has just one win in their last 6 games I am expecting another dominant performance tonight.

Speaking of dominant performances, Luka Doncic had one against the Warriors with 34 points and 11 rebounds. He didn’t have his usual assist numbers in that game, but Luka knows he will have to get his teammates involved if they want to beat this Lakers team. In his last game against Los Angeles back in April of 2021 he finished with 13 assists and the Mavericks won easily by 15 points. The Lakers are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to opponents’ assists per game. They allow teams 25.8 per game and against the Pelicans, they allowed 29 of them. I’m counting on Luka to show up big time tonight.
