Welcome to another super Saturday of sports! The NHL title is still undecided after the Lightning’s Game 5 win last night, and today we have a big MLB slate, plus Premier Lacrosse League, UFC, MLS, USFL and College Baseball World Series action, so there’s no time to waste. Let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

NHL champions still fighting
The Stanley Cup was in the building last night, but Tampa Bay made sure Colorado was not able to claim it by recording a 3-2 road win. The Avalanche still lead 3-2 but now they must travel back down to Florida for Game 6 tomorrow night. The Avs have -410 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook to get their hands on the famous trophy by winning one of the final two games, with the Lightning at +320 to complete a great comeback win. Our best player prop cashed for the 4th time in the 5 Finals games as Nathan MacKinnon had an assist.

Verlander ends Yankees’ home streak
Astros starter Justin Verlander had a great game as Houston beat the New York Yankees 3-1 to end their 15-game winning run at home. The Dodgers beat the Braves 4-1 as Freddie Freeman returned to Atlanta, while the Padres beat the Phillies 1-0 with Austin Nola hitting the winning RBI single off his brother Aaron. The Reds ended a 7-game losing run with a 4-2 win over the Giants.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays ML vs Pittsburgh Pirates
1:10 pm ET, ESPN+

Transitioning into a series with the Pirates after playing the Yankees is quite a drop-off for the Rays. Despite Pittsburgh performing well against the Cubs this week, the Pirates still leave a lot to be desired. Tampa will be looking to exploit those weaknesses with former Yankee Corey Kluber getting the start. After losing his last 2 starts to AL East opponents, he should have a much better time against the Pirates, who remain one of the league’s lowest-scoring teams. Tampa’s pitching staff is on an entirely different tier than Chicago’s and that should be what carries the Rays to a win. Read our full game preview for Pirates vs Rays.

Stat of the Day

Houston’s Cristian Javier has pitched in 13 games this season and just 2 of them have ended with more than 9 runs.
