Good morning, Pickswise Nation. So who likes baseball? That’s good, because with no NBA or NHL games today, the big MLB slate is taking center stage, but there’s also MLS, USFL, IndyCar and NASCAR action. Let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Champs win fourth straight game to reach Stanley Cup Finals
The Tampa Bay Lightning were 2-0 behind in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals against the New York Rangers, but last night’s 2-1 victory was their fourth straight success and punched their ticket to return to the Stanley Cup Finals, bidding for a third successive championship. Standing in their way of a three-peat are the rested Colorado Avalanche, with the Finals set to start on Wednesday night in Denver. The Avs are -195 favorites with FanDuel Sportsbook for the title, with the Lightning at +160. Pickswise handicapper Tyler Mortimer hit the Lightning ML and under 5.5 in the game, our 5th straight winning over/under pick of the series.

Yankees hit 6 homers to crush Cubs
The Yankees were mashing on Saturday, hitting 6 solo home runs off Cubs rookie Matt Swarmer in an 8-0 win. Other games were a lot closer, with the Twins beating the Rays 6-5, the Rangers overcoming the White Sox 11-9 in the 10th, and the Cardinals beating the Reds 5-4 with a 2-run walkoff homer. The A’s ended a 10-game losing run with a 10-5 win in Cleveland.

Best Bet of the Day

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 vs Arizona Diamondbacks
1:35 pm ET

The Diamondbacks and Phillies wrap up their series today with a battle of lefties on the mound. Philly is going for a series sweep and a 10th-straight win. The Phillies should not use today as a rest day as they are remaining at home for their next series. The Diamondbacks are starting Kyle Nelson, which essentially means they are going with a bullpen day. The lefty has yet to start a game on the season and Arizona has the league’s 5th-worst bullpen. Trust the home team to complete the series sweep. Check out our full preview of Diamondbacks vs Phillies.
