College football Week 5 is upon us, soon to offer a huge Saturday schedule that is headlined by ESPN College Gameday festivities in Iowa City for Ohio State vs Iowa. The slate also includes Alabama vs Mississippi State, Florida vs Missouri, Auburn vs Tennessee and Miami vs Clemson.

Here are my best anytime touchdown scorer bets. Also check out our college football futures and our Week 5 best bets.

College Football Week 5 touchdown scorer bet: Jaylen Raynor, QB, Iowa State Over 1.5 passing TDs (+100)

Raynor has tossed at least one touchdown pass in all four of Iowa State’s games this season, including two against Southeast Missouri even though the Cyclones won 38-10 and were leading basically the entire way. They are slight -3 favorites over West Virginia on Saturday afternoon, so the passing game should be featured even more heavily in this one. That is especially the case since the Mountaineers are allowing 282.3 yards per game through the air on 8.7 yards per attempt. They have already surrendered eight passing touchdowns.

College Football Week 5 touchdown scorer bet: Dezmen Roebuck, WR, Washington (+160)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Washington pays a visit to USC on Saturday night. The Huskies are +9.5 underdogs, so you have to figure that they will be airing it out early and often. That’s the way to attack the Trojans’ defense regardless of the score, in fact. Head coach Lincoln Riley’s outfit is surrendering 236.2 passing yard per contest on 8.4 yards per attempt and has watched opponents score eight TDs through the airwaves. Roebuck should be another one of the beneficiaries at this defense’s expense this weekend. The sophomore has made 30 receptions for 308 yards and he found the endzone during last week’s 27-24 loss Minnesota. Going back to last year, Roebuck had seven touchdown catches – including five in the last six games.

College Football Week 5 touchdown scorer bet: Rayshon Luke, RB, Fresno State (-130)

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Luke may have established himself as RB1 in Fresno State’s backfield following last week’s performance. The senior rushed 11 times for 167 yards and one touchdown during a 38-24 victory over Rice. For comparison, Bryson Donelson was held to 19 yards on nine attempts. Donelson has found the endzone four times already this year, but three of those came in a 49-3 laugher against Sacramento State. The Bulldogs have a much bigger game on their hands this weekend, visiting Washington States as +1.5 underdogs. Wazzou’s run defense stinks; it is allowing 173.3 yards per game on the ground and 5.0 yards per carry. The Cougars’ four rushing TDs given up make for a modest number, but there is no reason why Fresno State’s ground game can’t find success. Look for Luke to score...and maybe Donelson, too.
