Today’s MLB slate is loaded with plenty of action to get your hands on. Let’s dive into my favorite MLB player prop bets for Friday, May 17. Also, make sure you find out our MLB picks for each of today’s big matchups.

Bryson Stott (PHI) over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBIs (-115)

Line available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

After a slow start to Bryson Stott’s 2024 campaign that had him hitting below .220, he’s found his groove in May. Hitting .417 this month, Stott has eclipsed this player prop line in 8 straight games. It helps when you’re hitting either at the top or bottom of one of the most loaded lineups in baseball.

With the injury to Trea Turner, Stott has moved around not only in the batting order but also on defense. He’s one of the most underrated pieces for this Phillies squad and is expected to have a big game at home against RHP Jake Irvin and his 4.72 xERA. Irvin’s prop lines that sportsbooks are hanging don’t look great for the 27-year-old. His “earned runs” prop is set at 2.5 with vig on the over, while his “hits allowed” prop has climbed to 5.5 — in large part due to this being the second time he’s facing off against the Phillies this season. With most of the Phillies’ bats lines unplayable, we’ll gladly take the bait at Stott’s line and his hot bat over the last month.

Brayan Bello (BOS) under 4.5 hits allowed (+100)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

Brayan Bello will make his second start after a 3-week hiatus on the injury list. Luckily for him, it comes against an underwhelming St. Louis Cardinals offense that has never seen Bello in his career. In his first start back from injury, Bello threw just 68 pitches, went 5 innings and allowed 4 hits. His “outs line” for tonight tells the tale that he may once again be limited. You can find the over on his outs of 15.5 at +120.

The Red Sox will be cautious with their star pitcher, who has shown flashes this season of being a viable top-end starter in their rotation for years to come. I’d expect no more than 80 tonight, with no news yet confirmed on a pitch count. That gives us a slight edge on this prop, which has cashed in half of his starts this season.

We also have an MLB mega parlay for today’s action at +1071 odds!
