NFL Week 11 New York Jets vs New England Patriots expert predictions

The Patriots have dominated the Jets in recent years, even since Tom Brady departed. While New York has been much improved this year, they still fell to their New England rivals just a few weeks ago, where the defense was on fire and forced Jets quarterback Zach Wilson to throw 3 interceptions. That game took place at MetLife Stadium, and now at a rapid Foxborough crowd, you can expect the Patriots to want to crush their divisional rivals once again.

Jets vs Patriots point spread pick: Patriots -3.5 (-105)

We’ve got an interesting AFC East showdown here as the New York Jets travel to take on the New England Patriots. With the Bills suddenly faltering the division is there for the taking, giving some added stakes to this matchup. Both teams are coming off bye weeks here, and it’ll be interesting to see how each side responds to the time off. I’m not a big believer in Mac Jones, but I do believe that a Bill Belichick defense that has an extra week to prepare isn’t going to give up much to Zach Wilson. New England’s defense will do enough to carry them to a win here at home. The Pats managed to win by five points on the road when these teams played a few weeks ago, and that was with Jones playing pretty terribly and taking six sacks.

Wilson predictably threw three interceptions in that game, and I don’t think it’s an outlier. He had four interceptions against the Pats in his rookie season last year. New York suffered two massive season-ending injuries on offense recently when both Alijah Vera-Tucker and Breece Hall went down, and they really didn’t have much margin for error on that side of the ball. A lot of people wrote them off because of their embarrassing Monday Night Football loss to the Bears, but the Patriots have quietly won four of five. And despite all the criticism their offense has received, they’ve actually put up at least 22 points in six of their last seven games.

Jets vs Patriots Over/Under totals pick: Under 38 (-110)

The under also makes a lot of sense in this one. Wilson has struggled mightily against Belichick in his young career, and I wouldn’t expect things to get much better here on the road. The last time the Jets went on the road, Wilson averaged 4.7 yards per attempt. In his previous road start he had 110 yards in Green Bay. This will be their first road game without Hall, and I don’t see them scoring much at all. We know Wilson isn’t going to light it up, and the Jets’ ground game averaged only 3.4 yards per carry in these teams’ first meeting.

The Pats didn’t move the ball too well either in that matchup, and they finished with less than 300 yards of total offense on the day. Robert Saleh’s defense just managed to hold Josh Allen in check last week, and they’ve given up 17 points or fewer in four of their last five. This one could get ugly.
