NFL SNF Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers Same Game Parlay at +704 odds: Aaron Rodgers leads Packers to playoffs

We are wrapping up the 2022 NFL regular season with Sunday Night Football between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. If the Seattle Seahawks lose earlier in the day, the final playoff spot in the NFC will all come down to this contest; the winner will be in and the loser will go home. No matter what, that is the scenario for Green Bay specifically – while Detroit would be eliminated if the Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams.

Below is our SGP for Sunday Night Football, and also be sure to check out our full Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers predictions on the side and total.

Packers -6.5 alternate spread (+108)

Aaron Rodgers over 251.5 passing yards (-114)

Christian Watson to score a touchdown (+145

Parlay odds: +704

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as Aaron Rodgers racking up his fair share of passing yards and Christian Watson finding the end zone obviously work well with a Green Bay win and cover. Let’s break down each of the SGP legs.

Packers -6.5 alternate spread (+108)

Nobody would have thought that the Packers would be in this win-and-in spot 5 weeks ago. They had dropped to 4-8 on the season after giving up 40 points to the Eagles. But in the last 4 weeks Rodgers and the offense are putting up an average of 30 points and the Green Bay defense has allowed an average of just 17. From pretty much out of nowhere, this proud franchise is once again firing on all cylinders. Although the Packers lost the first head-to-head meeting in 2022, they allowed only 15 points. Now their defense is playing even better, snagging 8 turnovers in the last 2 games and 12 in total over the last 4. That is bad news for Jared Goff, who has never enjoyed playing in outdoor conditions away from the friendly confines of Ford Field. Goff has played only 2 games in weather under 30 degrees and in those games he has compiled a 34.5 passer rating, 47.2% completion rate, zero touchdowns, 5 interceptions and an average of 190.5 passing yards. Look for the home team to win by at least a touchdown.

Aaron Rodgers over 251.5 passing yards (-114)

Rodgers has the highest quarterback rating in NFL history in primetime games at 106.8 and he had won 13 consecutive primetime games until losing at Buffalo this season. Well, a home game against Detroit sure isn’t a road game against Buffalo. The Lions are #30 in the NFL in passing defense and dead last in yards per pass attempt allowed. Rodgers threw for 291 yards against them in the first meeting even though they scored only 9 points. With so much at stake and also revenge on his mind, the former MVP should be in line for a huge night.

Christian Watson to score a touchdown (+145)

Christian Watson has gone 3 games without scoring, but Rodgers did his best to get the rookie receiver a touchdown in Week 15 against the Rams – which would have cashed our SGP for that contest. Watson failed to break a tackle just short of the goal line at the tail end of that game. I think he will get over the hump and into the end zone on Sunday night to end the regular season with 8 touchdowns (or more). Detroit is absolutely hopeless against the pass and has surrendered 25 TDs through the air – tied for the 7th-most in the league. The Lions have allowed the 3rd-most fantasy points to the WR position this season and I see no reason why Watson won’t victimize them to the fullest extent.
