NFL SNF Kansas City Chiefs vs New York Jets Same Game Parlay: Travis Kelce stars for Taylor Swift at +751 odds

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (87) motions to the fans agains the Chicago Bears during the first half at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

On this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets. The stadium will be filled with stars, such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Garrett Wilson, and of course, Taylor Swift. Kelce’s special guest was in attendence during Kansas City’s thrashing of the Bears in Week 3, and the pop star is expected to attend this primetime game too. So, how does that affect Kelce’s usage in the Chiefs’ offense? I have my idea, and I’ve used it to create my Same Game Parlay for Sunday Night Football at over 7/1 odds.

Chiefs alternate spread -13.5 (+158)

Travis Kelce to score a touchdown (-150)

Travis Kelce under 71.5 receiving yards (-114)

Same Game Parlay Odds: +751

Kansas City Chiefs -13.5 (+158) over New York Jets

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again – the New York Jets will not be successful with Zach Wilson at quarterback. This could be his last chance too, considering the Jets signed Trevor Siemian the other day and rumors are swirling about trading for Kirk Cousins from Minnesota. Wilson is running out of chances, and I don’t expect Sunday Night to be the turning point that Robert Saleh is hoping for. In New York’s Week 3 loss to the Patriots, Wilson wasn’t able to get anything going through the air and the Jets managed just 38 rushing yards. Granted, it was raining and windy throughout the game, but that didn’t stop the Patriots from moving the ball downfield. The bottom line is that I have very little confidence in Wilson being able to move the ball downfield through the air.

Following a sluggish start to the season, the Chiefs have returned to form, thanks to Taylor Swift – I mean Travis Kelce. Kansas City’s offense looked dominant in their 41-10 win over the Bears last week, and although the Jets are better than the Bears, it’s not by as much as you might think. I’m envisioning a score of roughly 28-13 in favor of the Chiefs, so I’ll back an alternate spread to maximize the value.

Travis Kelce to score a touchdown (-150)

Travis Kelce is a magnet for the football in the red zone. He is Mahomes’ favorite target, and the tight end will almost always get at least a look or two in the end zone each week. So far this season, Kelce has scored in Week 2 and Week 3, and we all know why he scored in Week 3. Taylor Swift was spotted sitting next to Kelce’s mom in the stands, and Patrick Mahomes even admitted he was trying to get Kelce a score because of his guests. And here’s the good news for Chiefs fans – Swift is expected to be in attendance again on Sunday night. It’s the Chiefs in a primetime game – how could she not? At this good of odds, I had to make this the second leg of my Same Game Parlay.

Travis Kelce under 71.5 receiving yards (-114)

This may seem counterintuitive to the previous two legs, but that’s what drives up the payout. Having a pick that doesn’t correlate with one or two of the legs in the parlay can increase the odds of the parlay. By adding this leg, the parlay is at nearly 8/1 odds. But that’s not the only reason why I included this leg. Kelce has stayed under this number in both of his games this season, recording 26 and 69 receiving yards. That doesn’t mean he won’t be targeted a lot, but I don’t expect his catches to be for huge gains. The New York secondary is no joke, and Sauce Gardner highlights a defense that has allowed just 217, 248 and 201 passing yards in three games. I’m projecting Kelce for 6 catches for around 55-60 yards, so this leg is the perfect way to drive up the payout of this Same Game Parlay.
